Susan W. Freestone Education Award

• Scholarship Description
• Applicants for the Susan W. Freestone Education Award must have been a member of a Junior Grange in New York State and must presently be a member in good standing of a Subordinate Grange in New York State. The candidate must graduate from high school and enroll in an approved two- or four-year college in New York State. A second grant may be available, providing the student makes application and supplies a satisfactory transcript of work from the college.

  The New York State Grange was founded in 1873. There are more than 150 local Granges in New York State with a total membership of over 4,000. The Grange is primarily found in rural communities, however some may be found within the limits of the State’s cities. A community where citizens know each other and communicate on a regular basis will run smoothly and work for the total benefit of the community as a whole.
