I will be a Class of 2021 graduate next year. I have worked extremely hard to get to where I am in high school. I will graduate, with honors, and currently have a 4.0 GPA. While in high school, I have volunteered as much as I possibly can, worked as many hours as I could get, swim for my school, an Eagle Scout, and took college courses while in high school. I an applying to the University of Pennsylvania, where I would like to study International Business & Affairs and the Law. After graduation from University of Pennsylvania, I would like to attend Law School and then return to my great-grandmother's Indian Reservation or another Reservation, where I would like to work and serve. My parents are divorced and work very hard to help support me; however, my mom is a teacher, my step-dad is disabled, and my dad was a nurse, until COVID 19 and his surgical hospital is closing effective June. Just like my mother before she left for college, I thought I would be able to get support from parents; however, due to this, I will be responsible for my own college tuition. Any help would be appreciated and I would be forever grateful and pay it forward when I am able.

Hello, my name is Cheyenne Willis. I am currently a junior at Lenior-Rhyne University and I am struggling to pay for my tuition. I am an Apache Indian and I am hoping to find help with my music career. I am a music education major and going in debt with a music degree alone is tough but I am also getting a teaching degree with that. I want to teach the younger generation that there is something and someone to help them the way music was there for me.

Brianna B  on 5/18/2020 10:08:00 AM

I am Brianna, I am a Lumbee from Parkton, NC. I am going to graduate in May with a G.P.A of 3.0. I have struggled with my decision to attend college because of recent family illnesses, the Pandemic and the recent death of my boyfriend/best friend due to asthma. We had made many long-term goals and after further deliberation, I came to the conclusion that I must continue toward both of our dreams to further ourselves. I have the ambition to become a Speech Language Pathologist and plan to eventually open my own business assisting those who struggle to communicate verbally within my own community.

Good morning or good afternoon, I am Lindsey Scherer.I am currently graduating in the middle of a pandemic along with the class of 2020.I have Cherokee and Creek! I have applied to this scholarship because of my family struggles.Due to the pandemic and the loss of jobs,I will be paying for college myself. This news is new and heartbreaking for me.All my life I have had to grow up faster than kids around me due to my family issues.low income, and struggles with anxiety. Throughout high school I have always worked 20-30 hours a week since I turned 16.Now,since my step-mom,who was our main source of income, has lost her job,I am working the hours of a full time job at only 18.My goal for college is to become a teacher.Im a nerd who is beyond excited to teach secondary science. I have been blessed with the opportunity to volunteer at Camp Bennett,a special education camp in Muskogee,Oklahoma, to learn I had a passion for teaching.Over 6 years I have collectd almost 400 volunteer hours. Another opportunity I have been blessed with 2 years of interning at a middle school near my high school for practicum experience. It was so much fun having experience in the field.Thank you for taking the time to read about me! Have a great Day, Lindsey Scherer

I am a member of the Oglala Sioux Tribe. I have already graduated High School last May of 2019. I have attended my first semester of College at Haskell Indian Nations University. I plan on changing schools to pursue an Early Childhood Education major at a college that will be a better fit for myself and my education. This Scholarship will be able to help with the expenses and fees along with a few other scholarships that I have. I hope to win this scholarship because it would help me be more successful as a Native American. It will also open more opportunities for me as I plan on going to college that is located several states away.

Shodah, I'am a Crow Native From Wyola, Montana. I am going to graduate in May with a GPAQ of 2.9, because of my constant struggles of fitting in and our poverty levels here ion the reservation. The tribe here as we know it no longer has the federal funding to help individuals because of political reasons and it leaves us people trying to go above and beyond depending on what we relied on as our main resources, to not being able to rely on them for financial obligation to asking for help in anyway possible to be successful in the outside world to receive higher education and come back to my reservation to help my people who struggle just like all of us here.

I am nearly a quarter Cherokee, and my grandmother's grandmother was on the trail of tears and I am hoping to find a scholarship that will aid me in attending the college i want to go to. Boozhoo, I am a Ojibwe Native American from the Turtle Mountain Indian Reservation. I am 21, attending community college full time, trying to get a job, starting counseling. I just started school, so right now I'm going for my associates of science, one day i will be a psychiatrist who specializes with helping rape victims on my reservation. For now I'm without a vehicle, and stay with my father, brother and cousins. I graduated GED in november, after having tried alternative school with on success. My mother says she's never met a child who loves school as much as I do. I just wanna help my people.

OshKaillah I.  on 1/9/2020 1:26:29 PM

I am a senior with a 1.7 GPA because bullying and depression, which pulled me away from learning and coming to school. Today, I'm doing my best to catch up and get great education. I only have one parent who is supporting me- out of the 5 siblings, i'll be the 2nd to go to college. This scholarship will help me work harder than before, I've came a long way to achieve everything today and for the future. This will open doors knowing that anything is possible and i could still be an attorney in American Indian Law

Alijah K  on 1/2/2020 9:09:50 PM

I only have a 2.0 GPA because my medical situation has followed me, post-secondary education and unfortunately effected attendance. This scholarship isn't to pay my way so I can work only as hard as allowed, but so my parents don't have to help pay out of pocket for my schooling as well as hospital and doctor bills. This scholarship will prove that I'm more than my GPA, and that there's opportunity everywhere is you're willing to go the distance. Thank You!

Safa A.  on 1/2/2020 12:25:22 PM

I’m a junior in high school student as well as a college student with a 3.8 GPA. I will graduate with an Associate degree in science and soon continue to get my Masters. I applied for the scholarship because it’s never to early to get one to help me in the future. I want to go to Duke University so I can be a Doctor. With this scholarship it will help along the way of the process and the money needed to be a Doctor.

Jaxon W.  on 12/23/2019 2:06:12 PM

I am Muscogee (Creek) with a GPA of 4.0, which I have maintained throughout high school. I have been admitted to attend Oklahoma State University and accepted to the pre-Veterinarian Program. This scholarship would greatly assist my family's ability to afford to send me to such a wonderful college. I am planning on working to help pay for my college but this award would likely allow me to focus more time on my educational goals. Thank you for your consideration and for the offering of this assistance.
