Scholarship Description

Applicants of the Arizona Breaking Barriers Student Athlete Scholarship must be graduating Arizona high school seniors who are currently an athlete in an organized sporting team (e.g., high school, local public or private club, recreational league or other formal organizations) and plan to attend an Arizona college or university.

Scholarship Details

  • Awards $3,000 to fifteen Arizona high school seniors
  • Focuses on student athletes participating in organized sports
  • Designed for use at any Arizona college for the freshman year

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be an Arizona high school senior graduating by spring
  • Should participate in high school or organized sports
  • Plans to attend an in-state college or university in fall
  • Requires a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
  • Demonstrates financial need; Desert Financial membership not required

Application Process

  1. Ensure eligibility by meeting all outlined criteria
  2. Prepare documentation of sports participation and academic achievements
  3. Gather proof of financial need for the scholarship application
  4. Submit the application by the designated deadline (to be confirmed on the Foundation's website)

Fifteen Arizona high school seniors participating in organized sports will be recognized and receive a $3,000 scholarship for their freshman year at an Arizona college.
