The objective of the CFMA Student Scholarship is to enable full-time students interested in finance, accounting or construction management to pursue their education in the subject. Scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 will be awarded in early August each year to be used for the fall semester. Scholarship winners will be notified via phone and honored at the CFMA Annual Golf Tournament in September. Attendance is requested.
Eligibility Requirements
- Enrolled in an Oregon or SW Washington College or University
- Pursuing a degree or certification in finance, accounting or construction management
- Maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA
Application Requirements
Submit a complete CFMA Scholarship Application, including:
- A 300-word essay that demonstrates the applicant's relationship to the construction industry and/or how the construction industry impacts the economy
- A current transcript from the colleges or universities attended thus far, or high school transcript for those entering their first year of college
- A current resume
- Two letters of recommendation, with one academic and one from the business community. Letters from a member of the applicant's immediate family will not be considered).
The CFMA Portland Chapter includes representatives from Construction Firms, Public Accounting Firms, Insurance Firms and various construction related partners in the Portland Metro Area. The Chapter’s Scholarship Committee will award all scholarships based upon the above stated criteria.
