The Dr. Antonio Jorge Foundation, Inc., a non-pofit charitable organization, in consultation with the Dr. Antonio Jorge Social and Economic Development Council of Miami-Dade County (AJSEDC), is proud to offer the Dr. Antonio Jorge Political Economy Scholarship. The scholarship is intended to memorialize Dr. Jorge's life and to promote his ideals: a better society for all, education, and international cooperation. Each year two qualified students will be awarded $500 each in order to facilate their pursuit of an undergraduate education in a field related to political economy, an interdisciplinary branch of the social sciences that focuses on the interrelationships among individuals, governments, and public policy.
The window for scholarships opens during the fall semester for the upcoming spring and summer terms. In order to be eligible for the Dr. Antonio Jorge Political Economy Scholarship, applicants must: reside in Miami - Dade County, FL, prior to submitting the application; pursue an undergraduate degree in Political Science, History, Economics, Sociology, International Relations, or Public Administration; and attend a regionally accredited college or university in Miami Dade County, FL. In addition to the application, applicants must also submit transcripts and an essay.
