Hello, my name is Garrett Evashenko, I'm a 17 year old High School senior with a GPA of 3.05. Ever since elementary school, I've been a part of the gifted program and thoroughly enjoyed being a part of classes with students that share a similar mindset and look to keep this up by pursuing my interests in college. Despite being in a middle class family, my father recently had foot surgery and is out of work until further notice and the only income we've got for my house is from my mother who's a teacher. That being said, I've got no expectations for my family to put me through school, but if you'll please consider me for this scholarship, it would be a great relief to take some of the burden of student loans off my shoulders, Thank you.

Nicholas R  on 2/15/2023 10:06:28 AM

My name is Nicholas Roberts, and I am a 20-year-old college student. As a member of a minority group, I understand the challenges that come with belonging to a marginalized community. I am proud to be a part of my heritage, but I also recognize that there are systemic obstacles that I must overcome to achieve my goals. One such obstacle is the financial burden that my family faces. My parents owe taxes, and we are struggling to make ends meet. As a first-generation college student, I am determined to pursue my dreams and obtain a higher education. However, I cannot do this alone. I need financial help to make my dreams a reality. Despite the challenges that I face, I remain optimistic and hopeful. I know that with hard work, determination, and the support of those around me, I can achieve anything that I set my mind to.

Antonio M  on 1/7/2023 2:46:50 AM

Hello, My name is Antonio McBride.I am a 3rd year Business Administration student with a 3.1 GPA attending Bethune-Cookman University to pursue my bachelors degree to become a real estate agent. Coming from a family of household of 3 with a single mother I feel as this scholarship may help me as well as my mother further my education level. My mom is my hero and I want to take the responsibility role into finding out how could I earn extra rewards to further my education. You win some you lose some but giving up isn’t an option.

Gabriel D  on 12/7/2022 12:36:01 AM

Hi! My name is Gabriel. I am currently a high school senior. I feel that I am deserving of this grant because I am a hardworking and motivated individual, shown through my GPA and involvement within my school campus. Receiving this scholarship would take lots of weight off the shoulders of my hard-working parents. Please consider me.

Emma- Lee H  on 10/19/2022 7:10:23 AM

HI! I would like to start this out by saying thank you. Thank you for listening and taking the time out of your day to read this. My name is Emma Houston and I am a current High School senior preparing for college. I have a GPA of 3.64, and I believe that education is a crucial key to my future. I grew up with a single, disabled mother, who had to work constantly to make ends meet. It was hard to watch her go through that. Since I was a young girl, I knew what I wanted. I knew I wanted to help people who were like my mother. My mother is my BIGGEST supporter and has always been there for me whenever she can be. I feel as if I owe it to her to go to college, if she put in all of this hard work for me, then I can do something for her! If I receive this scholarship, I plan to use it for my good and make the most out of it, for my career. I want to go into nursing and help individuals with physical and mental disabilities. Coming from a low-income family, I don't think that I would be able to pursue my dream without this scholarship. Thank for your time and consideration.

Jimmy B  on 10/7/2022 8:21:37 AM

Hello, first and foremost thank you for having the heart to give back. My name is Jimmy Brown. I am an African American Honor student since 2nd grade. My cumulative g.p.a is 3.86. I’m a senior attending Junipero Serra High School in Gardena, CA. My goal is to get a degree is Health Science. I am applying for this scholarship so that my situation of financial hardship to go to college does not prevent me from my heart’s desire to help people as my future career. I’ve played football for 9 years straight and during my life time I’ve seen a lot of unhealthy people and multiple injuries. I want to help people especially upcoming generations and elderly get healthy and live and improve their bodies. I’ve been injured a few times but by Gods grace I recovered. Experience is the best teacher and my goal is to help and educate others so they won’t go through what I went through. Thank you for your time and for considering me.

Janiyah W  on 7/25/2022 7:06:38 AM

I am considering applying for this scholarship because I believe it could further assist me in funding my education. I have been working since my sophomore year of high school, however, due to having to support myself since then, I haven’t really been able to put money aside like I wanted to in order to make this transition easier. Winning this grant would give a great boost to my financial needs for school.

Rida A  on 3/2/2022 2:09:46 PM

Hello! I applied for this scholarship a while back in hopes to attain financial aid as a transfer student. Unfortunately, my financial situation does not allow me to pursue my dream without many financial obstacles. I have a passion for psychology, and wish to humbly assist those who are dealing with issues just like the rest of us. Thank you for this opportunity. Best of luck to all!

Colin F  on 12/16/2021 1:08:31 PM

Why should I be considered for this scholarship, I believe that I should be considered because I was affected by covid-19 and my stepfather who brought in most of our household income passed due to the corona virus, and I would greatly appreciate if you would consider me for this grant, because I am in great financial need and would love to continue after high school to become a HVAC-R technician, and we greatly need those all the technicians we can afford! If you believe I am the right fit for this Grant, I would greatly appreciate it!

I am applying for this scholarship simply because my family and I have had financial issues due to covid-19. I am trying to avoid taking a loan out for many reasons. I am pursuing a degree in the business field under marketing. My education is important to me as I am the first person to pursue higher education in my family. Also, school is tougher to pay for as my college is out of state and this grant would help immensely towards paying off the costs.

Janoeli P  on 2/1/2021 5:48:19 PM

I’m applying for this grant because coming from a hispanic family, money is not exactly spread around and going to college will cost a lot of money. Due to my citizenship and financial aid status, I qualify for this grant, if I do receive this grant, it’ll help me pay for college and help pursue my journey as a human being. I enjoy art with a passion and throughout my life, I’ve found ways to artistically express major events within my life. I believe college will help me find myself and possibly discover abilities I never knew I had, so it would mean a lot if I earn this grant for school.

Hope W  on 2/1/2021 1:56:39 PM

I am applying for this grant because furthering my education to become successful is extremely important to me. I am looking to get my bachelor's degree in Fashion Design. Not many college options available in the state, I am going to attend Iowa State University. I am eligible for this grant because of my financial need. My mother is my biggest supporter throughout my life although she does not have a large income. I also have an older sister in college and a younger sister that she supports also. Since my mother has primary care of my siblings and myself, this could potentially show financial obstacles in getting my degree. Financial obstacles such as being unable to afford tuition for multiple years in college, unable to afford the necessary books and other supplies that I would need for my classes, and also being unable to afford room and board. It would help me out tremendously to receive this grant to further my education to pay back my mother who I owe everything.

Harmony M  on 1/18/2021 2:32:08 PM

I am applying for this grant, because I am the first one in my family to go to college. Due to my finacial aid status, I qualify for this grant. I want to become an EMT, and I am enrolled into my local college. I'm living on my own, but I still help my parents with their bills, and pay for my own. I am one out of seven children, and my parents don't make or have enough money to send us all of on what they make. This grant will help me tremendously on the cost of my schooling.

Crystal A  on 1/17/2021 11:33:38 AM

I am applying for this Federal Pell Grant because I am a African American who is aspiring to become a licensed physician. College education is so costly but at the same time very valuable. I believe that applying for this grant will give me the financial boost that is needed to pursue pre-medicine as an undergraduate. Earning this Bachelor's degree in science will be the best accomplishment next to gaining acceptance into medical school to begin my studies as a medical student. Therefore, it is only natural to apply for this grant because of its long term benefits towards students pursuing a bachelor's degree of any kind.

Monica G  on 1/11/2021 6:11:01 PM

I am applying to this federal grant to further my education. I really don't want my parents stressing out about having to make money for me just to go to college. I also don't want to depend on them, they have enough stress with four other children. With this grant it'll get me closer to pursuing my nursing or professional trainer degree.

Colton S.  on 1/11/2021 2:00:54 PM

I am applying for this grant because college is going to be very expensive for my family and I. I am planning on majoring in Biology at Tarleton State, then going to Med School at Texas A&M University, then pursuing residency at Scott and White in Temple TX. With all this schooling needed to become an Orthopedic Surgeon, anything can and will help tremendously.

Zoe C  on 12/29/2020 3:49:02 PM

I am applying for this grant because receiving an education is very important to me. Due to my financial aid status, I qualify for this grant. I am a Native American boy, and applying to this scholarship due to my education being very important to me. I am a nursing major and due to Covid-19, the virus has affected many of my people on the Navajo Reservation with being the highest in the state of Arizona. I’m the first of my family that is going to college and it’s been a stressful first semester with classes being online as a freshman. This scholarship will help me financially and not put my parents in debt. I also don’t want to ruin their lives with my schooling as college can be expensive. However, I want to help my community by being a nurse and helping those who need help in the medical field.

Brennan W  on 12/25/2020 6:14:50 AM

I am applying for this grant because I value a college education. I am a triplet and I have a step brother who will also be going to college the same time as my brother and sister and I. My goal is to get a degree in business entrepreneurial studies and own my own business someday. I believe this grant will help my family with the financial burden of having the four of us in college at the same time.

Rosalin B  on 12/23/2020 10:27:36 AM

I am applying for this grant because this will make all of my dreams come true. I am on the course of getting a dual degree in Dance and Business Administration so far it has been tough and I will get through it. I want to do this to help create a dance studio in my community in the Bronx,NY for low-income families. Growing up as a dancer my mom didn't have the money to send me to classes or dance schools and take care of 5 children. I understood she did her best of making me dreams come true by supporting my education. I hope with my degrees I can help out those other boys and girls in my community that are having those same problems. With this grant it will bring me closer to my dream and in getting a better education.

Aaliyah M  on 12/22/2020 7:01:56 PM

Alexis M  on 12/17/2020 2:40:24 PM

I am applying for this grant because receiving an education mean the world to me. I am Psychology major and I want to study to become a licensed Clinical Psychologist. If I am awarded this grant I will be able to pursue a career that is in high demand. I trust it is my life's work to help individuals struggling with mental illness and help them to live the life they deserve. I believe this grant will be the start to a beautiful career within the mental health field. I want to help my community and be an advocate for mental health.

Teagan N  on 12/14/2020 12:38:22 PM

I applied due to my financial need for college. I have applied to dozens of scholarships and intend of doing so to more because I want to study what I love, zoology. My family only just got stable jobs after 10 years on federal aid, hopefully this will help.

Christine B  on 12/13/2020 5:56:05 PM

The corona virus has had a tremendous impact on not only myself but also members in my community. Not only is college stressful alone but now the pandemic has pilled on. I dont want to become a financial burden, receiving this grant will not only help me retrieve my goals for the future but it will also guide me to become financially free from my student loans.

Ricquasha F  on 12/11/2020 1:37:34 PM

I am applying for this grant because I am a first generation college student. I don’t have the funds financially to support my education and I only have a single parent for my support. I would like to enter the world of esthetician and help with skin care.

DayVon B  on 12/9/2020 7:16:15 PM

I'm applying for this grant so mom won't have to pay little to no money for college. I plan on graduating with my bachelor's in mechanical engineering and pursue getting my Ph.D. This grant would help out very much financially.

Kiana K.  on 12/9/2020 3:32:21 PM

I am a Native American woman who wants to further my education but needs help financially. I don't want to rely on my parents to pay for my education. I will be a first generation college student and I am interested in majoring in English. I want to be able to have the world hear my people's stories and voices about our side of history. I've honestly struggled going back right after high school because I didn't apply to as many scholarships that I needed to. I didn't want to make my parents go into any debt. I can't bare the thought of my parents struggling to help me pay for my education when they're not the ones who are going to school. That's the reason why I am applying to this grant because it'll really help me out a lot.

Desirae J  on 12/7/2020 12:13:09 PM

Princess D. Frimpong  on 11/25/2020 1:11:20 PM

I am applying for this grant because I want to do all I can to ensure I complete my first year of college. On 03/05/2020 I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s. I started spending all my time in the hospital for weeks undergoing intense chemotherapy. Being a patient at the hospital was one of my biggest fears growing up. But as a cancer kid you’re not allowed to be scared of hospitals anymore, being poked and prodded by healthcare workers comes with the cancer patient lifestyle. Soon enough my hospital bed became my home. The nurse at Children’s Connecticut Medical Center took such good care of me there that I decided I wanted to become an Oncology nurse rather than a NICU nurse. They were a big part of my support system and after going through what I went through all I just want is to become the support system of a child battling pediatric cancer. I currently attend SCSU, where I am in a Nursing club and in a Pediatric Cancer Awareness Organization. This groups have taught me a lot in one semester. Therefore, I will do what ever I can in order to graduate with a BSN. I’ve already experienced the worst part of my life, it’s time to experience the best parts of it now.

Melanie L  on 11/23/2020 12:36:18 PM

My name is Melanie Lyons I'm a first generation and i'm a junior at Old Dominion University. College is expensive, yes being here is a blessing but it also makes me feel like a burden being here knowing the position we’re in financially. My goal is to lower the cost of being here in any way possible to ease some stress so my focus can just strictly be on my academic studies. I major in Park Rec and Tourism, with a concentration in Therapeutic Recreation and a minor in Special Education. I plan on using my degree in Recreational Therapy to open my own business mainly targeted to people with disabilities and my own non-profit organization for youth with diverse backgrounds and in low-income areas. If I'm able to finish college strong I'll be able to use my knowledge and skills to make an impact on those communities, my goal has always been to help people in any ways that I can because my whole life I prayed for someone or anything to help us. Right now at school, I'm a peer mentor for ODU freshmen a part of the Wellness LLC and I’m on the e-board as treasure and events chair for Queen In You, a women's and youth empowerment organization here at ODU. Any awards that can help me with money or food etc will be greatly appreciated so I can dedicate my attention and time to my campus responsibilities and focus on being a full-time student without having to add outside work to my busy schedule because of everyday expenses like food, rent, gas, and my tuition fees. Just having one less thing to worry about would take some weight off my shoulders so I can work on my mental health more and in the end provide the best quality work in my classes, my on-campus duties, and in my career.

Madi G  on 11/20/2020 6:46:32 PM

I am applying for this grant because I am the first person in my whole family to ever attend college. And I will be the first person in my family to get a bachelors degree. I am currently in nursing school, the books and cost of school is very expensive. But, I want to be able to achieve my dream of becoming a nurse practitioner. My family does not make a lot of money but I know they will work themselves to death in order for me to get through college.

Alejandro Z  on 11/15/2020 9:56:09 AM

I am applying for this Federal Pell grant because I come from a low income family and I am looking for as much help as I can get. I am a first generation college student and am not receiving much help from my parents. I plan on perusing a degree in Nursing in college. I have always been Interested in the medical field and I and trying to achieve my dreams of helping people and having a good future for my family and I.

Angel U  on 11/9/2020 9:08:16 AM

I am applying for this grant because I'm trying to graduate with as little loans as possible. I'm a first-generation student and my parents are going through a divorce right now, so they are unable to assist me with anything. With COVID going on it has made things a lot harder for me. I've been paying for my college tuition since I started without any financial help. So I'm hoping to gain this Scholarship to lessen the burden of me overworking to keep up with my payment deadlines so I can focus my attention more on school. Also with this Scholarship, I'm hoping to save as much money as possible so when I get into Medical school, I can afford to pay and not be so much in debt.

Malcolm R  on 11/4/2020 3:59:09 PM

I applying for this grant because school is not cheap. I have 2 more years left in college, but my dad got a new job. I lost most of my finanicial aid and I'm so close from finishing. I don't want to go into debt, because I know what that can do to you down the road. This grant could help me finish school and help me out in the future with any other expense I might need.

Jadeen A  on 11/2/2020 1:32:29 PM

Winston Churchill once said, “Success consists of going from failure to failure without loss of enthusiasm.” And while I never define my obstacles as ‘failures,’ I mark my success by my repeated perseverance through adversity. I have faced several challenges over the years, mostly academics and mental health colliding with each other. My first year of college was during my sophomore year of high school. It was an exciting, new, and changing chapter in my life. My freshman year in high school wasn’t my proudest moment of being a troublemaker individual and thought that I should apply to a newly developed school and see if I was good enough to be considered to be selected to break out of that mindset. Towards my third year of high school and the second year of college, my academic and mental health started to take a toll on me. My beliefs were for me to enjoy high school experiences such as parties, football games, making new friends, and prom just like the movies. On the contrary, I wanted to stay in college to get my degree and make straight A’s which involved staying up until 3 am and then waking up in three hours to get ready for the day. The settling of reality vs fantasy forced me to make a decision of which one to save. The quiet battle inside was quickly died out when I was put on academic probation and decided to withdraw to give myself a break knowing I would be back when I finished high school. I now have the strength and determination to achieve my goals, no matter what hurdles I have to overcome which is to get my bachelor’s degree in the long run. I’m working to get my associate’s degree. I’m a dependent student living with a singular household. I was able to go back to school due to taking out a loan. I’m thankful for the sample that my high school gave me of what learning is supposed to be like and thankful that it left me wanting more. With this scholarship and the need-based grants, I have been awarded, I can get further with my education. Th

I am applying for this grant because I won't have major financial help from my parents. My mother already has her own student loans and can't tack on any of my expenses. My father has 4 other children and is finally finically stable enough to take care of all of them. I don't want to make it harder on my parents then it already is. I plan on studying business and getting masters in business administration or business management as well.

I am applying for this grant as a first generation college student with no financial help. I work but my education is very important to me so it is hard to work enough hours on top of sticking with my school work. Covid-19 has definitely effected how I work as well, as I am an essential employee making no more than minimum wage in a retail store, it can be very physically and emotionally draining. On top of having to pay for school, I need a new car which I cannot afford with these school bills.

Emily L  on 10/20/2020 9:44:45 PM

Some of the reasons why I have applied for this grant is because of covid, I had the first covid scare that kept me in quarantine for a month, which meant no income coming in from either of my two jobs at the time, and shortly after I contracted the virus and had to quarantine for a second time, which amounted in a total of 2 months during the summer that I had no income at all coming in, which has created a serious financial hardship for myself. Being a first-generation college student, I am determined to get not only a degree but my doctorate degree in Occupational Therapy. By receiving grants this upcoming semester, this will ensure that I can fulfill my goal of completing a college degree.

I am applying for this scholarship to help me with school funds. My mother is a single mother with other siblings to take care of. While my mom is at work, I have to help my siblings with schoolwork while trying to keep on track with my work and everything else. This scholarship would be so beneficial because I work two jobs to support my financial need for school. My major is Applied Mathematics with a minor in Education. We don't see enough of black females in STEM and I like to be apart of that change.

Shariah W.  on 10/8/2020 11:01:25 PM

I am applying for this pell grant because I need financial help. Anything will help. My family has not always been fortunate its been hard growing up. I am the 2nd one out of my family going to actual college and not just online. I am applying as an undergraduate student. I have little financial help, and what I currently am offered with financial aid is not enough. I feel like I will struggle in college without any scholarships to help. I have been working my job since sophomore year. I've been a part time high school student for the past three years for financial reasons. This grant would change everything. Thank you for the opportunity to seek help.

I am interested in physical therapy or Chiropractic. My dad almost became paralyzed several years ago from a back injury. I would like to learn more about the mechanics of the back to better help him as he gets older.

I am applying for this grant and would like to discuss how life was before COVID-19. Each day represented a full class load, track practices after school, and Golf practices and matches during the Fall. While enduring the current pandemic, I’ve worked at a Golf course, spent time with my friends, and family. As a family, we have seen a few folks pass away from the COVID virus and I realize, this time spent together in our home has been a blessing. Also, during this pandemic, our family is back in touch with long lost out of state relatives. I have participated and learned how to use video conferencing applications such as ZOOM, which has shown me a way to communicate with those who live both near and far away. Without the time away from the school building, this year would have been another one with a jam-packed schedule of both academics and sports, with little family time to reconnect and explore diverse interests. Thus, in many ways I am grateful. I took up a deeper interest in lawn care. I have always cut the grass, but during the pandemic, I learned about and began seeding, fertilizing, watering, and ensuring our lawn was green and healthy. I am most regretful of friends who were seniors this year having to miss some of the most important days of their high school lives. Proms, dances, gatherings at restaurants and in homes, all postponed or cancelled indefinitely. Just one year before, my family and I attended my high school’s graduation at a local concert pavilion. One year later, the impact of this virus has been incredible. However, I was able to readjust and participate in creative ways to celebrate the successes of my friends, attend virtual tours of colleges, and maintain a positive outlook for my graduation in 2021 by looking for alternatives to remain positive and grateful. What COVID has meant to me is a reconnection to the true meaning of family and friends. I’ve realized that life is short and nothing is promised. COVID-19 provided me an opportun

I am applying for this grant because I would like to pay off my debts and the loans that my mom had to sign for in her name in order for me to attend the University of Arizona this fall. My mom has stage four metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her liver lungs and bones. In school I am studying physiology and medical sciences in hope of going to medical school and being a surgeon one day. As well as hopefully trying to find a cure for cancer in the future. Unfortunately, my father passed away in July of 2018 and he was our main source of income, as my mom couldn't wok anymore because of her cancer. We have many up coming payments due that we cannot afford and could use all the financial aid and grants that I can get. Any financial assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I am applying for this pell grant because I need financial help. I am an out of state student, I have no financial help, and what I currently am offered with financial aid is not enough. I struggle to make ends meet constantly. Every loan I have tried to take out is denied because I do not have anyone to cosign. I have been working several jobs, I live in an apartment I pay for, and I try to do the best I can. I have attempted to be reclassified as an instate student. Unfortunately, nothing has changed for the better. I am a Math major, I just recently got into my senior college. I've been a part time student for the past two years for financial reasons. This grant would change everything. Thank you for the opportunity to seek help.

I am applying for this grant because I want to be a veterinarian - which is a huge financial commitment. My parents have done so much for me and I do not want them to struggle to to continue to pay for my education. They have supported me throughout my academic career - and I want to be able to contribute to the cost. I am trying to save money anyway I can and help pay for school. I am applying for loans as well. Earning this grant would allow me help pay some of the expenses. I have wanted to be a Vet since I was 5 years old. I continue to pursue any and all opportunities to work with animals, or in the animal field and this grant would help me get 1 step closer to reaching my dream.

Chisom U  on 8/3/2020 4:11:15 PM

I am admitted to John Hopkins University, class of 2024. I did not turn in my FAFSA on time, because I traveled to Nigerian with my parent for the adoption of my siblings. I am a GATE student. I am a competitive student, graduated with a weighted GPA of 4.4 and a non-weighted GPA of 4.0. I have been involved in some volunteer services, Church, preschool, daycare, and volunteered at the Department of Veteran's Affairs, cared for "him who shall have borne the battle". I am pursuing an undergraduate course in neuroscience as my major, and doing music as my minor. I planned to go to a medical school, to be in the front-line, to care for our nation. I also planned to use music as a tool in helping my patients in their recoveries. I have a strong passion for people. My mom lost her job since November 2019, and my dad's business is badly affected by the COVID-19. With the two children that my parents are adopting, which process they began years ago, and the recent economic situation that my mom's job lost, as well as the effects of COVID-19, I am concerned that my college expenses may pose serious financial burden to my parents.

I am applying for this Pell Grant because I am a full-time student athlete. I have received a certain percentage of a Scholarship to play for Marymount California University. Just because I was granted a scholarship to play did not guarantee my tuition to be paid in full. I will be struggling to keep up with the payments as I am always in a 12+ unit overload, usually I would also have a morning training and afternoon with the Sports Program I play for, but due to covid-19 I will not be playing until Spring 2021. The degrees I hope to receive are Bachelors in Criminal Justice and Masters in Business Administration.

I believe I deserve this grant opportunity because I am a hardworking and determined student. I'm determined to graduate college and pursue a career I am passionate about. This scholarship will help me achieve my long term goals. This pell grant will be extremely helpful in helping me afford the education I need to successfully graduate college. Going to college means a lot for my family and I want it to be the least stressful for my parents. While there are many applicants, I believe I deserve this scholarship because of my accomplishments throughout high school. As a graduating senior, I have come a long way. I am very positive and ambitious as a student, athlete, and friend. I have illustrated my strong leadership skills both inside and outside of school. My strong leadership can be recognized by my appointment as a varsity outdoor and indoor track captain while maintaining a 3.8 GPA in addition to working part-time as a supervisor. Throughout high school I have worked extremely hard in maintaining the top 20 percent of my class. My persistence in keeping up with school and sports has allowed me persevere. Just as much as I am dedicated to track I am dedicated to succeeding. .

I am currently attending a community college to get my Associates in Science and then plan on going to a four year university. When I transfer to a four year I want to become a Sports Physical Therapist because I love helping others, seeing them progress, have a big interest in sports and played throughout my childhood up until my junior year of high school, and I also had to go through physical therapy myself when I found out I had scoliosis. I believe that having some of these attributes will allow me to connect to athletes on a deeper level. Sports have always played a big part in my life which is why I believe this occupation would be a great fit for me. I'm applying for this scholarship to help pay for my tuition and books so that I may continue my education to achieve one of my biggest goals in life. It's also just my mom, brother, and I, so I don't want her to have the burden of paying for tuition. Receiving this scholarship would help us tremendously.

Michael G  on 12/21/2019 9:03:14 AM

My name is Michael and I attend East Tennessee State University. This scholarship would help me out with funding's for college. My dream is to put myself through college and using this scholarship would help me fulfill that dream. I major in sport management and minor in business. Books for all my courses are expensive and paying for a dorm to live in during school, which cost more money then I have and this scholarship would help out so much.

Naduri M  on 12/20/2019 2:36:23 PM

My name is Naduri and I attend North Carolina Central University. I would be using this scholarship to help me with the funding of my college career. I major in Nursing, and the cost of nursing books, uniforms, room and board, tuition, all of it is very difficult for me and my mom to pay out of pocket. My mom has my two younger siblings to take care of, so this scholarship will help us out a lot.

Aubrianne P  on 12/19/2019 6:01:49 PM

My name is Aubrie, and I suffer from Temporomandibular joint dysfunction. I will be needing jaw surgery within the next few years. Surgery alone is around ten thousand dollars, not including lost income during the long recovery time. I also have been diagnosed with cystic ovarian mass growth, and need to have regular doctors appointments to make sure my body is functioning adequately. With all of these current and future medical bills, it is difficult to pay for school. I am financially independent as well, with a low annual income and a full-time job. Everyday expenses and tuition are extremely important, but I must always put my health above any other expenses. It would help me immensely to receive any form of scholarship or financial aid, which i have never received.

Natalie R  on 12/19/2019 10:30:14 AM

My name is Natalie and I would be using this scholarship to help pay off my tuition costs. I am going to be pursuing a career in the criminal justice world, I hope to become an FBI agent or at the very least I would like to become a Homicide Detective. I want to help people and make a difference in the world and I want to give a voice to the victims and the survivors. I am determined to make a difference in the world and I hope to use this money to pursue my academics to help accomplish this dream.

Ian Gabriel P  on 12/18/2019 3:40:56 PM

I have always had a great interest in the care of my streets and the place where I live, I really like being in the countryside, in the streets contemplating the flowers and animals, I am interested in knowing more about ecology to learn from strategies of recovery, conservation and restoration that help eliminate the damage caused by us humans, to contribute to the care of endangered species, I just need a little monetary help to move forward with this dream.

Kaleb S  on 12/18/2019 1:47:12 PM

My name is Kaleb and I am applying for this grant to help pay for my tuition cost. I was raised by a single mother who always works hard to provide for us, but will not be able to help me pay for college. I am planning on becoming a teacher so that I could make a difference in the world. I want to directly influence the next generation of adults and influence them to make a positive difference in the world. The goal is to graduate with the least amount of debt possible,so this grant would be very helpful. I have one other sibling and a current GPA of 3.5.

libby r  on 12/18/2019 10:11:21 AM

Hello! My name is Libby and I am applying for this scholarship in order to help me with my tuition costs. I would love to become a clinical psychologists some day and help others who struggle with mental illness. Unfortunately, this is rather difficult for me, because I come from a low-class, rural family who has struggled with finances since I can remember. I only have my father and I have a twin brother who is attending college out-of-state, who hopes to go into the field of pharmaceuticals. I am only able to attend college through grants, scholarships, and loans because there is no way my father could help both my twin brother and I. I am also a first gen (along with my brother) attending college in my family! This grant would help me greatly!

Alejandro A  on 12/17/2019 2:30:59 PM

I have 2 siblings currently in college and a third one is about to enter college so I need help. I currently have a 3.0 GPA.

Ryan D  on 12/15/2019 11:18:15 PM

I am application for this scholarship because of my parents are at a hardship for paying my sisters tuition. I want to be a mechanical engineer because i want to make a difference in this world. I would need to take a lot of advanced classes such as 3 years of calculus and 2 years of physics. I would lie the money to help my family and myself in life.

Esther B  on 12/14/2019 6:40:18 PM

Harley H  on 12/11/2019 12:02:57 PM

I am applying for this chance to ease my mothers mind over my future. My mother is still having to pay back her own college loans and she can not afford to help pay for my college and finish paying off her own. With this grant i would be able to give her better peace of mind on my up incoming future.

Max K  on 12/11/2019 11:07:25 AM

Thank you for your consideration, I'm applying for this scholarship because I believe completely in my ability to carve out a path for myself as an artist and entrepreneur. Receiving this award would make for an invaluable early resource to achieve the first steps towards attaining the education necessary for the larger goal of building a network of both independent, and contract animation studios. My passion lies, unequivocally in animation, story-telling, and business building; this scholarship will provide me with the means to set my trajectories and it will have been among the first stepping-stones that brought me to a point where I am able to help others set theirs.

Chantel G  on 12/9/2019 6:18:09 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I am trying to pay for my college tuition. With paying for my tuition I am getting closer and closer to achieving my goal and becoming a nurse practitioner and open my own free clinic to aid for people who don't have enough money for for the doctor. I have these big dreams to help others who need it most and the best way for me to successfully reach my dream is to obtain a degree in nursing. I am slowly but surely getting close to that goal, but I need the funds for this goal. I am a First-Gen and my parents are doing their best to support my college funds, but we need more financial support. Getting this scholarship would benefit me greatly.

paul F  on 12/9/2019 4:27:30 PM

I am applying for this scholarship for my dreams to come true. My plan is to graduate from Grand Canyon University. I am pursuing a Bachelors degree in sports management. I'm wanting to make a difference in young athletes lives and make their dreams come true. I know everybody has a dream to pursue happiness and to give a helping hand in times of need. That's exactly what i want to do especially for my future children that me and soon to be fiance will have.

Antoine D  on 12/6/2019 1:28:08 PM

I am applying for this Scholarship because so I can pursue my Engineering, game design, and computer science. My mom and Dad are divorced and surprisingly I'm pushing through. Growing up I didn't really have a great social life because of my learning disability. I would mostly get bullied for it every single day. High school was at least way better them middle than elementary schools. I not saying my past for pity. I m saying the reason why I applied is because I'm really persistent of where I want to go. I applied because scholarships and grants help become the person I want to be in the future.

Sarrah G  on 12/5/2019 1:24:51 PM

I am applying to this scholarship to help my parents pay for my college for I am currently trying to pursue my education in the Veterinary Technology Program at Palo Alto College. I have finally found something that I can see myself doing in the future and with this scholarship it would help pay for the expenses that I or my family is struggling to provide. My goal is to continue working hard and to be able to get into the program in order to better my future.

Victoria W  on 12/3/2019 12:01:44 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I am a hardworking high school student who wants to further her education and do it herself. Currently I am taking classes at my high school, local community college, playing volleyball, and holding a steady job to help with my parents. I have always wanted to go into psychology and study why we think and do the things we do, and i've had to always set goals and achieve them myself. Since college is something I have to do and provide for myself alone, I am trying to get at every opportunity possible. I see what we are becoming as a society and with this money I'd love to get a chance to further my passions and help the future us.

Jasmine M  on 12/2/2019 10:23:09 AM

I am applying for the scholarship because my mom is a single mom with me and my autistic brother and she has to focus a bit a more on him then on me money wise to help him succeeded. I am currently in my last year of high school and just having the money for college would mean so much to me and my family so i can worry a little less and focus on my future without worrying so much about debt and etc for college.

Brandie P  on 12/1/2019 12:50:11 PM

I am 23 years old and have three beautiful children under the age of five. I am trying to better my future for them, so they can have a life I didn't. I am a struggling mother so I do not have a lot of money so not having a bunch of school debt would be amazing!

Jonathan V  on 12/1/2019 11:11:24 AM

I'm applying to become an architectural designer. But most importantly, if I get into a great university I want to be sure my parents are financially stable over anything else.

Kenneth F  on 11/26/2019 1:16:10 AM

I am applying for this grant because I would like to take the financial burden off my parents and achieve my dream of becoming a computer engineer.

lola m  on 11/21/2019 3:07:08 PM

It has been a dream of mine to attend college since I began middle school. In my household, it is only my mom and I. She works 2 jobs, full time and still struggles to have extra spending money after the rent is due. This Pell Grant could immensely impact my life for the better. Law school is where I’m headed and I am so motivated to do the best possible.

Christine A  on 11/19/2019 9:56:24 AM

I have yet to sign up, but I hope to run my own hotel company in a resortful location. Where it can thrive and grow. But, the only problem with that is money. My mom works a low waged job and my step-dad is on disability. My father passed in late April so we had t pay off his debt he had left for us to take care of. So, my worries are that my future won't be successful because of the debt I will be in. So, going to Ohio State University for Business, and Entrapanuership will be a hassle with the payments. So it would benefit me in many ways, thank you.

Nicole G  on 11/15/2019 12:12:22 PM

I have not applied yet, will be soon. I have great plans in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. I am going to get my PhD which is expensive. My family is bottom of middle-class; not struggling nor excessive. I would like the government to invest in me as a student to help reform the psychology of the modern workforce by assuring companies are hiring, training and treating adequately.

Karina V  on 11/14/2019 12:42:21 PM

I am applying because my mom is a single mom with three kids and is the only source of income. My dream is to become a nurse and I know my family cant afford to support that dream. I work around 30 hours a week to help pay for my own expenses so it is not so hard on my mom and so I can save for college. I have received nothing from FAFSA so I am hoping to win this scholarship.

Brooke K  on 11/14/2019 11:54:57 AM

I am applying because I got in to my top choice of schools and my mom is the only source of income because my dad does not work, but I got denied any sort of financial aid from FAFSA so I have been working as much as I can before and after school to save money but I'm not going to have nearly enough by next fall.

Noah T  on 11/10/2019 10:47:50 PM

I require this scholarship as I have a single income mother taking care of 2 kids on her own. My father was hardly there for us and died later in his life, leaving her to take care of us both without any warning prior. The aid would help so very much, as I wish to be the first person from my dad's side of the family to not just graduate high school, but to also graduate college.

Cindy P  on 11/10/2019 1:23:08 PM

I am applying for this pell grant because my father has no real source of income and my mother doesn't have the necessary resources to help pay it and remain financially stable.

logan l  on 10/31/2019 2:42:04 PM

I do not have finance's to pay for college. That is why I am starting at a Junior college. I want to get a education to better my self for my future life. Country music is my dream and goal. But I understand I need a steady job to support myself until music can support me financially. That is why I am getting a college degree first. My parent's are divorced and cannot pay for my college. I work on weekend's but don't earn more than $100.00 a week. I am wanting to work hard in my study's and earn my way through life.

Jared C  on 10/31/2019 2:38:12 PM

I am applying for this scholarship to help paid for college as college is so expense. People are graduating with debt of $60k. I would love not to be worried about money while in school. My dad is a school teacher, mother secretary. They are doing the best they can to help me fill my dream of being a college graduate. Being able to pay it forward...

Marlaina R  on 10/31/2019 12:42:37 PM

I am Applying for this scholarship, simply to fulfill a dream. To go to college. I do not come from a family with money, and neither of my parents went to college. Nor do they have the funds to help me. My mother does her best to care for me and my brothers with her two jobs, and she does a great job. We live in a small apartment, it gets hard with the four of us but we make it work. I’m looking for all the help I can get so that one day I can provide a better life for my family. I’m doing my best to get myself along, I pay for everything I need myself, which is hard when I make about 55$ a week. I’m working towards a better future, and I hope you can help me.

ellen s  on 10/30/2019 12:23:26 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I do not have enough money to pay for college. There are nine people living in my house, and my father has no money to contribute, neither does my mother. They both are divorced and do not have the funds to afford for my college. I want to go to college in order to provide a better life for myself, and help them and bring them out of the situation that they are both experiencing.

J'da W  on 10/29/2019 10:08:37 AM

I would like to apply for this scholarship because of my financial situation. My family yearly income in less than $20,000. My mother does not have a job because she has back and neck problems so she cannot work. My father does not live with my mother and I. My grandmother helps my mother financially support me and my brother. We can barely pay our house bills with the help of my grandmother and my father does not help us with our bills. This scholarship would help me get closer to my goal of being the first of my family to graduate college with a bachelor's degree and let my mother be less worried about paying for my college education.

Gabrielle H  on 10/28/2019 11:26:14 AM

I am applying for this scholarship because I really need to get through college. I'm working full time to pay for my classes out of pocket. My parents don't have the money to spare to assist me, and I don't want to be in debt for the rest of my life. I'm attempting to major in Social Work because I really would love to help children for a career, preferably in therapy or counseling. I have a big heart for children and my only dream is to make this world a better place, and to do that we start with the kids to have a good mindset on life. This scholarship would help a lot to fulfill my dream.

Cayleigh G  on 10/25/2019 3:39:54 PM

I am applying for this scholarship to help me achieve my dream of being able to help kids through occupational therapy. My heart has always been for special needs children and helping to bring a smile to their faces. My father passed away when I was four and I was raised by my mom and two brothers. My mom remarried to a youth minister when I was 7. I watched how he was able to be a blessing to others and I want to be a blessing as well.

Madison H  on 10/24/2019 10:50:34 AM

I am applying for this scholarship to allow me to go to college. I am the youngest out of four kids, and money is a large factor in the decision of the college I want. If I received this scholarship, I could go to the college I want, get the degree I want, and be a successful contributor to the economic system in America, and all around the world.

Ashley A  on 10/24/2019 10:34:18 AM

Hello! The reason I'm applying for this scholarship is because my mother is a single parent. My father had always been an alcoholic and he never provided for me. My mother always had to play both parent roles. She took up two jobs in order to be able to provide for me. Unfortunately, my mother suffered from a sickness because of a brain tumor a few years ago. She had to be off work for an entire year, and it was hard to get by. My mother tried to keep my head up by telling me to stay focused on my grades. Even though the circumstances and predicaments around me weren't fulfilling, I made sure to maintain my 3.84 GPA throughout my entire high school year. I've been accepted into many honorary clubs such as Beta, National Honors Society, and Junior Rotarian. I would greatly appreciate the Pell Grant so it can be a great load off of my mother. I plan to become very successful in the medical field in order to help her as she's done for me the past 17 years of my life. My father is currently disabled in the nursing home, and my mother is the only who can provide for me. The household income is less than $20,000, and I am in great need.

Saphyre M  on 10/24/2019 7:33:26 AM

The reason i am applying for this scholarship is because of finances . I the second oldest out of my 10 siblings, so money is going to be really tight if my family would have to pay for college for all of us. I do not want anytype of financial debt in my future and don't want my mom to continue struggling and worrying whether me and my siblings will go to college because of fear that we can't afford it. Having a low income and having multiple kids is awful and extremely tough to live with physically and mentally. My motivation is to apply for as many scholarships as i possibly can to assure myself that i will have no debt having a growth mindset instead of a fixed one is the main key to success people should never pretidermine their intellect, self, and future because that can be change at any moment in time.

hello. I am applying to this scholarship because after high school, I am in need of financial aid. Abigail S  on 9/13/2019 11:16:16 AM

Hello, my name is Abigail. I am applying for this scholarship because I am currently in my last year of high school and am unsure how to pay for my upcoming college. In addition, I don't want to burden my parents further upon my leaving. I help care for my grandparents and aunt as well as keeping up the house when I am not in school, so I hope to lessen the blow on my parents in any way I can. Education has always been something very important to my family, and I plan on majoring in psychology and going into social work or emergency services in the future, as caring for people is my passion. A grant like this would help me to continue my education, as well as lessen the burden placed on my family upon my leaving. Thank you for giving me your time.

Alana G  on 9/12/2019 11:51:16 AM

Hello my name is Alana, I have just recently started college as a freshman and things have been a bit tough for me as I am trying to figure out what college is best for me since I plan on going to four-year university after I graduate with my associates degree. I plan on majoring in Game design which is a field dominated mostly by men and I am a women going into this field. It would help significantly if I had the money to pay tuition at a college that would give me the best learning experience since I am already teaching myself game design at home while being a part-time student and full-time employee at my job. I am dedicated to this major and have been wanting to do Game design for as long as I have known.

Cameron T  on 9/10/2019 8:45:10 PM

Hello, my name is Cameron T., and I've been working my way through college. I'm in my sophomore year and have been attempting to balance my work hours with the hours I dedicate to my classes. It is frustrating, and at most times, stressful. I am dedicated to my cybersecurity major and am one of the women in my IST college dominated by men (25% women, 75% men). This challenge is something I've taken on, feel passionate about, and would love to continue. A grant such as this would help me cover my tuition and allow me to continue on without adding another stressful component to my student life. Thank you for reading.

Daniel N  on 9/8/2019 8:17:34 PM

I'm planning to go into the area of criminal justice and criminology. It would really help me out to be able to get this grant and allow me to take one step closer towards my goals.

Rylee G  on 9/7/2019 1:24:13 PM

Andrew R  on 8/18/2019 5:13:27 PM

This year I’ll be attending the University of Kentucky as a freshman hoping to study psychology. I’ve been accepted to UK but given no federal aid from fasfa so paying off this year will be pretty tough without some form of grant or scholarships. High school was not the most enjoyable but my school focused on STEM college like courses. While at my High school I got to attend some community college courses on campus and got a feel for what college was like. This solidified my decision in pursuing higher education, regardless of the debt I may get myself into. It would be much appreciated if I were consider for the Federal Pell Grant. Thank you for your time.

Joseph A  on 8/15/2019 2:26:53 PM

I am a freshman in college class of 23 I need this grant because of the family situation at home right now. This scholarship would help me get on my feet because i need 5000 to pay off the rest of my freshman year. Im a great athlete i do powerlifting for utsa and rugby for utsa and this grant would make life easier and help keep my focus on school and sports so I can do my very best.

miah m  on 8/12/2019 8:19:40 PM

Going to college has always been a goal high on my list. My aunt, my uncle and my cousin all graduated from Texas Tech and I would love nothing more than to follow in their footsteps. My father is helping me with tuition but I still need a little help for room and board. I also applied with FASFA but I was denied financial aid. I am doing the best I can to help myself with a full time job. I will not give up looking for the financial aid that I need to help me go to a good Universtiy.

Laceuna G  on 8/8/2019 3:49:26 AM

Hi my name is Laceuna. I’m the first in the family to go off to college. I was accepted to go to Oakwood University in Huntsville Alabama but with no money I don’t know how I’ll get to school to farther my education. My single mom is struggling financially to raise 4 children. She has a very decent job with a very decent salary but still struggle and we live paycheck to paycheck. My mother salary on paper is very nice, but after all the taxes, union dues, benefits costs and mandatory deductions her employer mandates, She barely bring home enough. Pell grants look at a person gross income, not net income. I applied and we were shocked at the low amount I was granted. Although we are extremeley grateful i qualified for something, I’m still trying to figure out how I’m going to pay for college. Hopefully there are people out there getting very nice amounts and this scholarship will help me a lot.

Hi! My name is Oddet & I am transferring from a community college to a private college because it offers what I am looking for, and something that my parents won’t say no and will let me go, though it is so expensive, I’m so excited yet embarrassed to ask for this grant! But I have to do everything to reach my dreams am I right? Thank you!

Brooklyn G  on 7/19/2019 2:02:44 PM

I am going to college out of state! However, the cost of out of state tuition is unfair! It doubles for me because I graduated high school in a different state. Attending a college of my preference should not be a strike against me because of where I live. I have to budget how I will be able to go home during breaks as well as my moving expenses just so i can attend a University that wants to penalize me for not being a state home grown resident. My parents are doing what they can to help make my dream school a reality. Please, consider me for this grant. Thank you

I'm asking for your support please so, that I will be able to attend college this fall. I don't have an interesting story to share with you all I have is love for my mom and watching her struggle to find away for me to attend college is so hard to watch. Please help us?

Marisa M  on 6/28/2019 10:47:21 AM

After my mom was diagnosed with ovarian and stomach cancer for 7 years she recently passed away, it was really hard on everybody around me including my younger sister. A lot of my family memebers seemed to start giving up any effort and I saw how discouraged my younger sibling seemed. This broke my heart but gave me means to be a role model for her, to persevere when things don’t seem to get better. God has given me the strength to keep looking for opportunities and hopefully this is one I can take advantage of. I’m currently enrolling at GCU but I’m in need of 40k and hopefully I get to my goal. Have a blessed day to everyone.

Faith H  on 6/10/2019 1:24:41 AM

When I was growing up my family was and still is all about love. My father showed me that love by working hard, I grew up with very little and to this day I don't have much, but there is one thing I have and it's a passion for my family. My mother and father have never had much so they told me to work hard, study, and learn so one day I can have the life they never hade. For my college is not just about my future, you see, it's about my parents future. I want to be able to take of them and give them security so my 53 year old father no longer has to work dead end warehouse jobs, living pay check to pay check. Do I want to take care of myself? Of course, but they are the most important people in my life, and I want to be able to take care of them.

Brooke H  on 6/7/2019 2:46:46 PM

Hi my name is Brooke! I will be attending University of Nebraska Kearney, currently I am a communications disorder major, but I think I want to change it to political science, so I can become a lawyer. My goal if I become a lawyer is to help women and family of sexual violence. This is a personal experience I faced. This grant would help so much for the future and for my goal to help other people!

Genevieve H  on 5/17/2019 12:49:04 PM

It is really hard to find a job these days without some form of graduate education, and Virginia Commonwealth University is the institution that fits different careers that I am considering. Some students have a specific career in mind when applying for colleges, but many have little idea of the specific career they would like to pursue when graduated. Right now, I consider either a career in psychology or dentistry. To help me to make up my mind, I decide to double major in dental and psychology so that both options remain open. I hope that by deepening the two topics, I will understand what really interests me and where I can see myself in the future.

I am going for my Bachelor's in Social work. My plan is to help as many people/families/etc as I possible can. I live on my own and financially taking care of myself. I'm going in full-time and working full-time as well, 12 hour days 3 to 4 days a week depending on the week. I'm super excited to further my education and do something I love, helping people. I know this job will have its up and downs but as long as I can help at least one person a day if with doing the simple things, I know I'm doing something right. I wish everyone luck and good wishes for all you are going for and achieving!

Kymber L  on 5/5/2019 1:37:19 PM

I'm eager to pursue a degree in Nursing, and later work towards my degree as a Nurse Practitioner. I want to be able to provide medical services to those who live in rural areas and may not have access to good medical care. I don't know why college is so expensive. I believe I will owe more in college debt than I will make for the first several years of my career. If I'm chosen for this grant, I will be sure to maintain excellent grades. In addition, post graduation and starting my career, I plan to give back to other students who want to pursue a college education, to spare them the burden of loans and excessive debt. Thank you-KCLee

Theresa D  on 12/7/2018 4:23:08 PM

After too many years of waiting for the perfect timing to be able to get into college, I am finally able to start this dream at 45. I am enrolled at Cedar Valley in Lancaster, TX to become a vet technician. I have always wanted to be in this field due to my love of animals big and small. I volunteered at Spokane Humane Society and worked in their clinic for about 2 years learning about surgeries as well as all other aspects of working in this field. I was diagnosed with Lupus and Fibromyalgia in 2009 so had to stop working full time. I felt pretty defeated and thought that my dream was no longer able to be accomplished. I was recently reminded that I do have this opportunity even at my age...so I applied and got accepted!

Alek D  on 12/4/2018 4:56:14 PM

My name is Alek Douangchak-Settharat. I am currently enrolled in Georgia State University as a college freshman and wish to pursue a career in finance. This career choice was not chosen by me but rather my family who are all in military or civil service, so I will be the only child in maybe 27 years to pursue a job that does not involve military or civil service. I graduated at Duluth High School in 2018 with a 3.2 GPA and I am currently enrolled in the HOPE scholarship but I wish for a bit more money that way my parents do not have to worry so much about me and at least relax a bit. Although I do wish to enlist and serve the United States as they have provided me and my family with many opportunities, if my family wishes me to pursue finance as a financial banker than I have to respect their wishes. My only wish is to make my parents and my elders proud and to show them that I am responsible with my choices.

Cynthia H  on 11/7/2018 10:39:19 PM

Hello. My name is Cynthia Hubbard. Well, to start my life I was born in Macon, Georgia along with my twin brother. I lived there until I was six when my mom divorced my father. I then moved to California where I met my biological father, and there my mother married him. I moved around a lit as a child as my mom and dad had there problems, so I can't really say I ever really had a home. I went to nine different elementary schools and moved 11 times in those six years. And I went to two different middle schools. I even moved back to Georgia for half a year. Then when I was eleven my mother divorced my second father. This whole time the only one I had was my twin brother with me through it all. I finally moved to Nevada where I spent all four years of high school. Now i am perusing my dream to become a teacher. No matter where I went, not one teacher knew just how to handle my ADHD. One school even tried to put my into the special ed class even though I excelled all of her students. All because I had ADHD. I wish that one day I will be able to start an ADHD aware program as a teacher, and hopefully am able to spread the word about what it really means to grow up with ADHD. I want teachers to understand we cannot help it, we just need a little push at times. I want the world to know the truth and how to help children growing up with ADHD. So, a little money to help me through college, so that I may one day make that a dream a reality would be astonishing.

jordan p  on 11/7/2018 1:46:57 PM

I want to become a Computer Scientist and study Software Engineering. School has always been really hard for me ever since I was young, I've always doubted myself and was quick to give up because I was scared. Fiances as well have been hard. I'm trying to save money for college before I transfer and then I'll have to apply for a loan and work as many hours part-time while also attending school. So I'm trying to apply for as many Scholarships and grants as I can so I won't have to be in debt. But after graduating high school in 2015 and I'm currently in the Community College district. I have been working really hard on not giving up and not let my fear or give excuses, distract me from pursuing what I really want to do for my career. I hope to transfer to a State or University by 2019. My dream School is MIT and Georgia Tech.

Christina P  on 10/23/2018 5:42:49 PM

Hello, my name is Christina Paden and I am from Newburgh, Ny but I moved to California in September. I applied for this scholarship because it can help move me to my future goals of Social Work. My major will be to help young and emerging adults through difficult times in their loves. These times can include family hardships, eating disorders, or general help where they feel no-one is listening. I know that this scholarship can help finance me to better my learning skills and help me help those future young and emerging adults shape their lives. My dreams are simple: I want to be the push in the door they need, that I never got when I was growing up. My dreams are their dreams.

Alek D  on 10/23/2018 5:15:09 PM

My name is Alek Douangchak-Settharat, and I am currently enrolled as a 1st year in Georgia State University. My major is finance although at first I wished to pursue the study of psychology but my mother convinced me otherwise. Really this is all about her as she has worked long hours and encouraged me to go to college. I have good grades and I am still currently eligible for the HOPE scholarship but I know this Grant will help alleviate some of the burden my parents are having to pay for the rest of college.

Hello there. My name is Katelyn Rodgers, currently pursuing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology. I have been in school for about eight months, maintaining a 3.94 GPA. It is my absolute dream to make a difference in the mental health field. As someone who has struggled with mental health conditions, I can honestly say it is with all my heart desires to take my experiences, and to earn the required credentials behind the mental health field, to do what it is I feel I have been placed on this earth to accomplish The only dilemma that occurs, is the financial stability. If I were to receive a scholarship, It would help contribute to the financial portion of it, and to just chase my dreams without financial concerns.

Please grant me a portion of this scholarship so I can show my children and husband that you're never too old to complete college. It's been a long struggle caring for a mentally ill mother, an absent father, no other blood family, and pulling myself up by my bootstraps. A little help would truly be appreciated and will go a long way. Thank you!

Sarea T  on 10/16/2018 7:00:35 PM

In order to further my knowledge and education I am applying for your scholarship. I am currently enrolled in Kieser University for my bachelors program to eventually become a physicians assistant. I had become most interested in the medical field when my mother had found out she had a brain tumor. She had a successful surgery to remove it but then began to experience many complications including confusion, infections, and trouble weening from controlled pain medications. I feel it is my duty to help all those in need no matter the circumstance. I have always loved school and gaining more knowledge through classes and experiences. School is one important step to change the community and to gain knowledge needed to succeed. In order to do so I need help with funding. Thank you for your time and consideration, I hope you hear from someone soon. Sarea Toothaker

Congratulations, you are now reading the ramblings of an indiviual just trying to to better themselves through knowledge acceptance. My name is Kailee Jackson, born and raised in the heart of the driest part of Texas where there isn't any water based area for miles. I may have grown up in the dust bowl but I have had big dreams of living along the ocean and studying it's creatures. I graduated high school at eighteen in 2017, attended a junior college that following August, and graduated from South Plains College exactly one year later, in 2018. I long to be a Marine Biologist and help with the conservation of our water based life forms because they are vastly important to our environment and future on this planet. To add, I have been capable of paying for my education since I was a sophomore in high school; paid for approximately eighty percent of my eleven thousand dollar, twelve month learning excursion, and am just now, at the higth of my promising transfer, needing true assistance in furthing my education.

My brother has a student debt and my only working parent, my dad, is not able to support his three children, even when working 2 jobs a day. He struggles to feed us even though he tries his best and therefore, I want to major in biology to have a good job later on and do what my father couldn't. For this, I'm in need of major aid. Hopefully, this grant can come through.

Hello there. My name is Katelyn Rodgers. Born and raised in Stockton, California. It has always been a dream for me to make a drastic change within the mental health community. Having being someone who has suffered from severe manic depression, and various other issues has helped me to develop a deeper understanding of mental illness. Although I have my hopes and dreams and all I wish to accomplish, the financial portion of those dreams is definitely a struggle. I want nothing more than to break the stigma of mental health, and become the change I wish to see. While having the credentials behind my plans, there is nothing that can prevent me for reaching for these goals.

I would love to be the first in my family to go straight to college from high. My Grandfather spent 20 years in the military and went to college. I have worked hard in school and I love to go out and get a degree so I can help others like he did.

Good day. My name is Mariah Fernandez and I live in Chicago, Illinois. I have lived in Chicago all of my life and in recent years Chicago has become a some what of a battlefield. Gone are the days of playing outside, riding bikes and just playing the normal kids games outside because of the High Crime, violence and killing. Its my go to become a teacher and to work to make Chicago safe again for all. I want to be a part of the change that is coming and be a part of educating the young girls and boys to become men and women with a purpose. Chicago children will not be forgotten there is so much good in the city of Chicago and I want to be a part of bringing out the very best in the children.

Egypt R  on 8/13/2018 6:48:17 PM

Hello my name is Egypt Rouser. My whole life I have lived in Jackson, Ms. While there i was in school but while in school I had to overcome a lot of obstacles. Before I was even born my mother had suffered from mental illness. Being a child of course this was something that I could not understand. Although my mother had a caretaker who was her sister she mainly did not do her job. This left me to have to take care of my mother while I still had to deal with my studies not to forget that our only source of income was government assistance. As a child this was stressful for me because most of this money went towards bills and what was left could barely buy us what we needed for the house. As a child I learned to deal with it but still it did take its toll on me. Years later my brother stepped in to ensure that I made it to the next level of my life. While I did make it still I do not have the financial stability to help me pay for my tuition in college. My lack of knowledge about grants and loans caused me to miss the opportunity to accept federal loans that were offered to me. Now I am here trying to make up for it. The deadline to pay my tuition is almost here. If i do not manage to get it paid off my brother claims he will move me back to Mississippi. Which breaks my heart because I know I will not be able to get the same experience and education there that I would get here.

Hi, my name is Justin Hill and i just looking for extra money to go to school. I want to be a graphic designer. I know various of programs already and the school i want to go to is Full Sail University. I feel as though that this is the college i need to be present in. Extra money will help out a lot so if you read up until this point i appreciate you.

Garret G  on 8/4/2018 3:55:46 PM

I am entering my second year of school this fall. My parents do not have the money needed to help me continue next year, let alone the next semester. I could really use the grant to help pay for my dorm and books. The financial aid office is not able to get me qualified for any additional funding with student loans. I am studying to become a wildlife officer and there are not any scholarships, that I can find, for that field. Any help at all would go along way to helping me secure a future as a wildlife officer. Thank you!!!

Good afternoon, I am interested in this grant for I am technically the new first-generation college student. I say this because my older sister would have been the first but sadly she had to quit going to college due to her having an unexpected baby that happened to be born 10 weeks early. With the baby being born early the medical bills have taken a toll on my family and I. Putting us in a struggle to get the money for my college. This grant would be very helpful in furthering my education. If you could please inform me on how to apply for this grant that would be much appreciated

Shakur M  on 7/26/2018 2:44:34 PM

Hi, my name is Shakur McGarrity. I've been told all my life I have a learning disability. My school thought it was not good for me to go to a university. I can't lie it was a struggle for me to make it out of high school and I did. I graduated from high school and I also got accepted to Bluffton University. I play football and I am excited about going there. But it looks like with everything I have been through. I may not be able to go because my mom can't afford it. I need 12,700 for the year. I am praying i cant get a loan nor she can. I just want to prove to my self and everyone else that even with some short coming you can still be great at what you love with hard work and dedication.

Jacob P  on 7/22/2018 10:43:59 PM

Evening. This Fall semester is new since i barely went to college for a few classes. Currently my financial state is in a curve ball with rent with my mother and working hard to get money for paying for my college tuition. I do appreciate any sort of opportunity you can give.

Kristen N  on 7/19/2018 6:03:34 PM

I am trying to better myself and go to college.

brandin s  on 7/18/2018 8:43:26 AM

Hi my name is Brandin Shields. I am writing this post because I really need help in returning college degree. My job now Is barely cutting it! I live mainly pay check to pay check due to high cost on rent. I don't get any help from my parents and pay a total of 800+ on rent plus unities. I want to go back to school and I'm scared of having to pay back a loan just to fulfill my dreams with going to school for cyber security. My current gpa in school is a 3.4. I am willing to do anything to not have to pay back a loan and help my family out. Please fulfill my dreams. Thanks Brandin

I am looking forward to hopefully receiving the Federal Pell Grant. This scholarship will help me so much going about to school. I am a stay-at-home-mom with a newborn baby and would love to go back to Chicago State University this Fall Semester as a Sophomore. I am already in dept with loans and bad enough my financial status is poor. I work part-time.

Jaquelynn S  on 7/16/2018 7:45:38 AM

Good Morning. This upcoming fall semester will be my second year attending The University Of Pittsburgh at Titusville as a first-generation college student. Having a 3.9 GPA my first year has encouraged the university to help me with financial aid; however, this year will be even more difficult for my family's financial aid situation. I am applying in the hopes that I receive this grant to benefit my second year of college and my family's financial situation. I appreciate this opportunity to apply.

Jason K  on 7/1/2018 1:52:56 PM

Good Evening, I am interested in this grant for I am a first generation student and need all the help I can get. Being the first in my family to attend college the cost impacted us and every year struggle to get the money together to pay for all the necessities that come with college in addition to the general tuition costs. If you could please let me know how I can apply for this grant it would be much appreciated!

Raychel D  on 6/19/2018 11:09:28 PM

I am interested in applying because I need all the help I can get currently I cannot afford to continue school and this grant would help a lot. Please advise

Daniela T  on 6/11/2018 12:50:41 PM

Good Afternoon, I am coming onto my second year of college at Texas Tech University. I have finished my first year with a 3.82 GPA and strive to make my way to graduate school for clinical psychology, however, I am in need of financial help so I do not end in a hole of dept. My family is struggling to pay for my education as the scholarships I had this previous year were one time. This grant could be extremely beneficial in furthering my education. If you could inform me on how to apply for this grant I would be grateful.

Garrit S  on 4/25/2018 2:21:05 PM

How do I apply for this grant

Isabel  on 2/18/2018 2:12:17 PM

Can my daughter apply? She has moved back into our home because she can't afford to pay rent and we can't afford the dorms. she works part time, we try to help her like paying her car and car insurance, but we are getting in debit by using credit cards. How can she qualify while still living at home. She is a junior/senior in college.

April M  on 12/17/2017 2:03:04 PM

To Anonymous Poster: Yes, a federal pell grant is renewable every year. As long as your financial situation does not change, you can expect the same grant money.

Lindsey E  on 7/21/2016 5:47:53 PM

Is it possible to get a federal Pell grant every academic year? My daughter and I qualified for the max amount this year...if our financial situation does not change can we expect the same next year?

Hana M  on 5/31/2016 11:40:20 PM

I have worked hard to get where I am now. I am a student that maintains a 3.3 GPA. I complete on the track team at my university. I need help paying for education. I am going to school to get a criminal justice degree. The money I could receive would go to tuition.

ashtin h  on 5/14/2016 4:03:27 PM

i have a 3.3 gpa and i need money to pay for my books and i don't have the money to pay for my books and i was searching on the internet and i came across this site and i really need money for my schooling because the school that go to miles college is very expensive. i have the grades and the gpa so i should receive the grant

Dustin B  on 2/6/2016 2:11:16 PM

the fafsa asks for information from my parents but I don't live with them what does it matter how much my parents make a year if I no longer live with them?

Justice M  on 1/28/2016 12:48:42 PM

My parents recently got a divorce and now I'm needing help financially for school and rent. The rent is hard on my mom right now going through all of this. I'm a freshman in college and I also work everyday of the week.

Maribel N  on 10/2/2015 7:12:03 PM

Madison M  on 8/15/2015 10:07:31 PM

Worried I will not get into College of Nursing because I have no cosigner.

Amina A  on 7/29/2015 7:02:33 AM

I am going to apply. Hopefully I win.

Keyonte M  on 7/26/2015 1:40:55 PM

Very needed to help my parents out. We do not have the money to come out of pocket to pay for college,

Thelma Dianne M  on 6/27/2015 6:53:48 PM

Money is the very tight and needing help to finish.

Robert L  on 4/15/2015 6:44:50 PM

I have not applied for this scholarship yet. I am going to apply not to use it towards my gaming degree at JJC. I would love to get this schoarship as it will of course help me pay for college, since I am paying for all of my tuition alone. Hope I win!

george h  on 4/9/2015 11:16:16 AM

Getting the Pell Grant would be ideal, fro me. I have high-honors standing with a 3.86 gpa. I do have Crohns' disease and am curently not employed.

Brandon M  on 4/8/2015 12:22:18 PM

I know I cannot get many of these because I'm considered dependent even though my parents do not help me and I have to do it all by myself. Between work and trying to pay all my bills and student loans I don't know if I will make it the entire four years.

Walker W  on 3/17/2015 2:55:30 PM

This grant is the reason I can attend community college in my area, but I still have to work part-time to support just myself.

Kendall S  on 7/31/2013 11:04:59 PM

I have not applied for this Pell Grant yet, I feel like if I apply for some reason or another I will not receive the grant. Money is tight for my family and I and I am dedicated to pursuing my career and furthering my knowledge by attending UH, in the fall. Money is the only thing holding me back. I have a great educational background and I have applied for many scholarships but have not received a single one. I am going to apply and hopefully there is still some hope. To all you college students out there don't give up and keep on pushing for success because once success knocks at your door, you will know exactly who's knocking.

Breanna G  on 12/2/2011 9:15:34 PM

A very useful grant, im definitely going to apply for it

Chelsea P  on 11/20/2011 8:23:36 PM

Thank you, Federal Pell Grant. Without it, I wouldn't be able to afford college, and I'd be a much unhappier person. For those of you who are applying: Fill out your FAFSA (fafsa.ed.gov) and if you are a full-time student demonstrating significant financial need they will consider you.

Blaine B  on 9/27/2011 7:52:33 AM

I"m going to apply to this because it seems like an easy one to get. I need all the help i can get to get into college because my family is poor. Also people, if you have not applied for fasfa i suggest you do. Its a BIG help!

Pearce D  on 5/20/2011 12:48:00 AM

My dad has been out of work ( a college grad) and he is now working as a janitor making very little. The Pell helped me through my junior year of college. With increases for the upcoming year I'm really praying for it again this year P.S.D

Valeria V  on 1/31/2011 8:32:17 PM

Pell grants are the best!!! Thanks for this past year's tuition!!

Jenifer R  on 12/1/2010 7:11:10 PM

Samantha M  on 10/21/2010 2:37:45 AM

I didn't have to apply they just offered it to me and i recieved the maximum grant

arianna t  on 5/29/2010 11:08:39 AM

Helpful but as said before this is not a scholarship. Your school will determine if you will recieve it.

Dillan P  on 7/30/2009 9:16:41 PM

Pell Grant is NOT a scholarship. You have to apply through FAFSA, which will determine if you are eligible. If you are eligible, the college you have been admitted to will supply you with the funding. If those of you below did not fill out a FAFSA form, contact your college financial aid office right away to discuss what you need to do and what options you have. Deadlines for FAFSA applications may have already passed for the upcoming school year. Good luck to everyone...I hope you all receive what you need.....God bless you all and don't give up...your future is worth every bit of time it takes to keep trying.

I have signed a letter of intent to play football at Louisburg College. I am very excited. Our home burned down and we are in the middle of rebuilding and our contractor took alot of money and did not complete the work. My parents are now in all types of litigation with all of that. I need scholarship money to be able to attend. I have some acedemic money but that is all. I will work hard and have a great work ethic on and off the football field. jbf
