• The Stonewall Community Foundation strengthens the LGBTQ community and movement by making smart, values-driven investments in dynamic organizations, projects, and leaders. We take education seriously, knowing that it has the power to help LGBTQ people overcome complex social and economic barriers. For nearly 15 years, we have partnered with donors to create scholarships that provide unique opportunities and access to education, both in New York City and throughout the country.

  Community is at the core of our identity as a foundation. Since the very beginning, partnership with donors—individuals, families, groups of friends, and even businesses—has been the cornerstone of our grantmaking. This work is brought to life in our Fund Partner Program. The Gene & John Athletic Fund provides scholarships to emerging lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer athletes to help them reach their potential and realize their dreams.
