The NH Coalition to End Homelessness Hope Starts Here Scholarship Fund provides financial support to students currently living in NH who have experienced homelessness during their school career, have a desire to continue their education beyond high school, and have demonstrated academic achievement. Applicants must be under the age of 21 prior to the scholarship due date and must be residing in NH at the time of applying for the scholarship. Applicants must be actively pursuing post-secondary education.
Applicants will be evaluated on each component of their submission. Besides the application, applicants are to submit: an official transcript; a letter from a local homeless education liaison, school official, outreach worker, shelter provider, religious leader, or other homeless service provider, confirming current or former homeless status; a letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or other adult (not related) that can speak to the applicant’s qualifications and experiences; and a personal essay (500 - 1,000 words, double spaced) that address assigned topics.
