Scholarship Description

The Illinois Legislative Latino Caucus Foundation (ILLCF) was founded in 2002 to serve as a powerful advocate and resource for Latino communities across Illinois. By supporting educational advancement, public policy engagement, and access to critical services, the ILLCF works to empower Latinos to confront the most pressing issues facing their communities. Through its scholarship program, the Foundation offers financial assistance to Latino students pursuing a wide range of educational and career pathways.

Scholarship Details

  • Open to Latino students in Illinois who have not previously received an ILLCF scholarship
  • Supports students enrolled in certificate, vocational, technical, undergraduate, associate, or graduate programs
  • Welcomes applications from undocumented and DACA students residing in Illinois
  • Scholarship can be applied toward tuition and other educational expenses

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must identify as Latino
  • Must currently reside in Illinois
  • Must be enrolled part-time or full-time in a recognized college, university, vocational, or trade school
  • Must not have previously received an ILLCF scholarship
  • Open to students pursuing certificates, associate degrees, undergraduate degrees, or graduate degrees

Application Process

  1. Gather all required documents before starting the application, including a letter of recommendation and any program-specific requirements (e.g., personal statement, business plan, etc.)
  2. Complete the online application in one sitting via the ILLCF website
  3. Ensure all fields are filled accurately and all documents are uploaded
  4. Submit the completed application before the deadline as specified on the ILLCF site

All applicants are required to submit a letter of recommendation (LOR) along with any additional materials specific to their application—such as a personal statement, business template, or other supporting documents. The LOR must be submitted at the time of application.
