Every year, the Islamic Society of North America (ISNA), awards several need-based scholarships to students for their academic performance, community development work and other factors through a selection process. The ISNA Dr. Abdulmunim A. Shakir Scholarship supports freshmen students in their first year of higher education. Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA, and be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident attending a US based accredited institution.
Given his strong belief in the value education, Dr. Shakir arranged for a scholarship fund to be established to support freshmen students in their first year of higher education. The Vision of the Islamic Society of North America is to be an exemplary and unifying Islamic organization in North America that contributes to the betterment of the Muslim community and society at large.
