New Mexico Competitive Scholarships

• Scholarship Description
• Several state Grants and Scholarships are available to New Mexico residents to help pay for college. Unlike loans, grants and scholarships do not need to be repaid. However there are conditions for eligibility such as established need, a minimum GPA or required number of completed credit hours per semester. Students shall contact their institution’s financial aid office for eligibility period, as well as assistance for how to apply.

  The New Mexico Competitive Scholarships were created to encourage out-of-state students who have demonstrated high academic achievement in high school to enroll in public four-year universities in New Mexico. Applicants must: be non-resident or non-citizens of the United States; be an undergraduate; and, enroll full-time. The funds are renewable for up to four years.
