Scholarship Description

Lewis W. Newlan was a long-time supporter of the RCI-IIBEC Foundation and a dedicated member of IIBEC (formerly RCI). After his passing, the Foundation Board created a fund in his honor and in support of his stated commitment to education in this field for generations to come.

Established in 2013, the RCI Newlan Fund was created to provide a needs-based scholarship for students in the building envelope field of study. Four scholarships of $2,500 each will be given out annually to worthy undergraduate and graduate students. This scholarship is not renewable; however, recipients may re-apply up to four times in four years, provided they meet eligibility requirements.

Applicants must be current undergraduate or graduate students who have completed a minimum of 24 credit hours and are planning to enroll full-time at an accredited college, university or vocational-technical school for the entire academic year in an accredited program of architecture, construction, building sciences, or engineering leading to a career in the construction or building envelope industry. The Lewis W. Newlan Award is for undergraduate or graduate study.
