The Carl W. Christiansen Scholarship supports students from Rhode Island pursuing an accounting or finance major at any private or public college or university. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and legal residents of Rhode Island, but they can attend any college or university, regardless of its location in the U.S. Applicants must demonstrate an interest in accounting during their undergraduate/graduate years, and have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Applicants must also have the support of the Accounting Department faculty at their institution. Dollar amounts for this scholarship will vary.
In addition, they must demonstrate the potential to become a valued member of the Public Accounting Profession. Applications must include a short personal statement that reflects the applicant's interest in the accounting profession, a copy of their transcript, proof of U.S. citizenship and Rhode Island residency, and one letter of recommendation from a member of the accounting/finance department of their school. Applications must be sent by U.S. mail.
