About the Scholarship: Advancing Education and Anti-Fraud Careers

The Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship is a prestigious opportunity for students to elevate their education and pursue careers in anti-fraud professions. Established in 1992, the scholarship provides financial support and a year of ACFE membership, fostering a commitment to anti-fraud interests. Award amounts range from $2,000 to $10,000 and are directly disbursed to the recipient's university or college.

Honoring Memory and Dedication

In 1998, the scholarship was renamed the Ritchie-Jennings Memorial Scholarship in memory of ACFE members Larry Jennings, CFE, and Tracy Ritchie, CFE. Both individuals tragically lost their lives during terrorist attacks in Karachi, Pakistan, on November 14, 1997.

Eligibility Criteria: Paving the Way for Future Anti-Fraud Leaders

  • Academic Pursuit: Have a declared major or minor in accounting, business administration, finance, criminal justice, or a related fraud discipline.
  • Enrollment: Currently enrolled at an accredited four-year college or university and committed to enrollment through the coming academic year.
  • Undergraduate Status: Undergraduates must be in their junior, senior, or second half of their sophomore year during the application period, enrolled in at least 9 semester hours per term.
  • Graduate Status: Graduates must be enrolled in at least 6 semester hours per term.

Non-Eligibility: Guiding Application Requirements

The following are not eligible for the scholarship:

  • Past scholarship award recipients.
  • High school, junior college, or community college students.
  • Undergraduates not in the second half of their sophomore year.
  • College or university students graduating in the year the scholarship is awarded.
  • ACFE chapter directors or officers.

  • Overall academic achievement demonstrated by transcripts.
  • Recommendation forms.
