Lutheran Family Services is proud to support graduating high school seniors from underrepresented families facing financial challenges through the Coyner & Donna Smith Diversity Scholarship. Starting December 1, 2024, applications will be accepted for the 2024-2025 academic year. This scholarship provides financial assistance to students pursuing higher education at colleges or trade schools, regardless of major.
Scholarship Details
- Up to $15,000 for 4-year colleges/universities.
- Up to $12,500 for 2-year trade schools.
- No application fee, SAT/ACT requirement, or minimum GPA.
- Renewable if criteria are met.
- Applicable for any major at any college or trade school.
Eligibility Criteria
- Must reside in Nebraska and graduate from a Nebraska high school.
- Annual household income must be less than $75,000.
- Applicant must belong to an underrepresented community.
Application Process
- Visit the Lutheran Foundation Scholarship site starting December 1.
- Complete the online application form.
- Submit any additional materials requested by the scholarship committee.
- Contact the Scholarship Coordinator with any questions or to request assistance.
The mission of the Smith Diversity Scholarship is to provide a post-secondary education to Nebraska’s graduating seniors from underrepresented backgrounds with financial barriers, who display academic aptitude, leadership, determination toward goals, and a spirit for making an impact.
