Sarasota Music Club's music scholarship program has supported music education for many years. In 2016, the club formed a partnership with Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota and introduced a new, combined scholarship program - Suncoast Music Scholarships. Young musicians who are awarded a Suncoast Music Scholarship can use the funds to pay for expenses related to continuing their music education.
The competition is open to high school students who reside in Sarasota or Manatee County. Applicants must submit an audition tape with a minimum of two pieces of music from different time periods and of contrasting styles.
