The Wenatchee Women's Bowling Association hopes to enable some lucky students to pursue their dreams of a college education and thus a future career. The Opal Wickland Scholarship is open to youth bowlers in the Wenatchee Valley. They might be members of our youth association, active bowlers in the high school programs, or family members of our WVUSBC members. Eligible applicants must be high school seniors who intend on enrolling in higher education the following year. Applications run from January until the due date. Dollar amounts will vary.
The Wenatchee Women’s Bowling Association – Opal Wickland Scholarship was established through the Wenatchee Women’s Bowling Association by a donation from Cheryl Pope in her mother’s name. Opal Wickland was a top bowler in the Wenatchee WBA during 1960s and 1970s. The association has been adding to the fund each year. The WBA wanted a way to recognize and reward the youth bowlers in the Wenatchee Valley.
