Scholarship Description

In honor of mesothelioma cancer victims and their loved ones, Baron & Budd has established the Mesothelioma Cancer Victims Memorial Scholarship. This scholarship seeks to raise awareness of cancer’s far-reaching impact while supporting students who have been personally affected. Open to students pursuing any field of study at a four-year U.S.-based college or university, the scholarship provides financial assistance to help them achieve their academic goals.

Scholarship Details

  • Scholarship open to students accepted to a U.S.-based four-year college or university
  • Award funds paid directly to the recipient’s institution
  • Applicants may submit either an essay (800–1,250 words) or a video (2–3 minutes on YouTube)
  • Submission deadline: July 10th
  • Winners announced: August 15th

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be accepted to a U.S.-based four-year college or university
  • Must submit either an original essay or a YouTube video in English
  • Must include two letters of recommendation that reference the Baron & Budd Mesothelioma Cancer Victims Memorial Scholarship and the student relationship
  • Cannot be an employee or immediate family member of a Baron & Budd employee
  • Finalists must provide proof of enrollment for scholarship disbursement

Application Process

  1. Write an original essay (800–1,250 words) or create a 2–3 minute YouTube video on the scholarship topic
  2. Fill out the online application and upload your essay or submit the video link
  3. Submit two letters of recommendation and a professional-style headshot
  4. Finalists must provide proof of enrollment for scholarship consideration
