Complete a self-nomination to participate in the Golden Opportunity Institute! The Golden Opportunity Institute develops the agronomy, crops, soils, and environmental science professions by strengthening the next generation of leaders in the profession. Students from across the world in associate or bachelor degree programs are encouraged to apply. If you would like to be considered for both programs, you must apply to both programs. Please be sure to read the descriptions of the awards before beginning your application(s).
This program, sponsored by the Golden Opportunity Fund through the Agronomic Science Foundation, is designed for undergraduate students seeking to attend further education after completing their associate or bachelor degree. Up to 20 Golden Opportunity Scholars will be selected for this year's class. Winners of the award will: Be paired with a mentor who is a Society professional with similar interests and career goals; Receive financial support for travel, lodging, registration, and other costs related to attending the ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Annual Meeting. A small group of selected Golden Opportunity Scholars will receive financial support for travel, lodging, and other costs related to attending the ASA, CSSA, and SSSA Congressional Visits Day in Washington D.C. in the Spring following the Annual Meeting.
