Applicants for the Hartford Gay & Lesbian Health Collective Scholarship must be a resident of Connecticut who has been accepted for studies at an accredited two year or four-year college or university for the coming academic year for the purpose of completing an associate or bachelor's degree program. Applicants must identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, or queer (LGBTQ), or be from an LGBTQ household/family.
The following materials must be received via email no later than the deadline: the completed and signed application; a copy of the applicant's r most recent grade report or other documentation which could include a report card, official transcript, or unofficial transcript; two reference letters from non-relatives (at least one needs to be from an academic or professional reference); and an essay consisting of 500 words or less on one side of one piece of 8½ X 11 paper, typed and single spaced, with a font size of 12, (handwritten essays will not be accepted) describing the applicant's involvement with the LGBTQ+ community, their career aspirations and how they hope to help the LGBTQ+ community upon graduation
