The mission of the Portland Chinese Scholarship Foundation is to honor all Oregon high school graduates of Chinese ancestry and to provide those qualified students with scholarships in their pursuit of higher education.
Scholarship Details
- Awards range from $500 to $3,000 based on available funds
- Scholarships recognize academic achievement, community service, leadership, financial need, and/or athletic excellence
- Scholarships can be used at accredited colleges or universities in the United States
Eligibility Criteria
- Must be at least 25% Chinese in ethnicity
- Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident
- Must be a graduating senior from an Oregon high school, with at least two years of attendance in the state
- Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Must plan to attend an accredited U.S. college or university
- Community service and leadership activities must be verifiable by organizations listed
Application Process
- Prepare documentation of academic performance, community service, leadership roles, financial need, and any relevant cultural or athletic achievements
- Ensure GPA meets the minimum 2.75 requirement
- Complete the official scholarship application (check the PCSF website for application availability and deadline)
- Submit all required materials by the posted deadline
The scholarships are awarded based on academic performance, community service, leadership activities, cultural activities, financial need, and/or athletic participation. In total since 1963, over $700,000 in scholarships and scholastic awards have now been granted.
