The SDC-Harris Education Scholarship is for graduating high school seniors in GA or IL. Applicants must have a 2.7 min. GPA and must provide a college or university acceptance letter for the following fall school year. This is also a need-based scholarship, so applicants must have completed the FAFSA and have an EFC below $7,000.
Applicants must submit completed SDC-Harris Scholarship Application, a copy of their official high school transcript, a copy of acceptance letter from the college or university they are planning to attend and a 500-word essay: "The importance of education and how your major and achievement of a college degree will help you achieve your future plans"
Student must have participated in a workshop with Savannah Dream Center, Inc. and must be a high school graduate from GA or IL the year the scholarship is awarded. Applicant must provide a letter of recommendation from a HS Teacher, Mentor, or Counselor and a copy of the confirmation from FAFSA, showing it was submitted. Scholarship Awards are $1,000 and award recipients will be notified in May.
