Hi! My name is Hallie Nissenbaum. I am currently a graduating high school senior. Growing up with ADHD and anxiety was really hard, especially because it limited me from doing certain things: Making friends, as well as going to school and doing well, became a hurdle. It was difficult that I had to find a coping mechanism to ease how fast my brain was moving. I began to apply music to every aspect of my life and accomplishments, such as softball, dance and dealing with my ADHD and anxiety. Through music, hope, hard work and determination, I learned to seek out the resources needed to guide me through tough situations. I also learned to take a deep breath when beginning school projects, and even when I would feel anxious. I learned to depend on dedicated teaching and support staff, as well as turned to my school work, as I took interest in classes, in Film and Literature. As I move onto my next phase of life, I know there will be challenges ahead. The thought of meeting new friends and familiarizing myself with new surroundings creates some anxiety. But from the tools I have learned throughout my high school career, as well as my future relationships with college professors and classmates, I will build a new support system. My hope is to attend Quinnipiac University and pursue my goals of majoring in Cinema, Film and Digital Media Studies. Thank you.

Hi, my name is Sebastian Perez and I was diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. I decided to go to a technical school because I like working with my hands and putting things together..I feel it calms me down and I am really into cars. My mom is a single mom and I don't want to burden her with tuition costs. This is why I am applying for this scholarship.
