On June 4, 2015, Joseph M. Fannell was on his way to work when a driver ran a red light and struck his car broadside; he died from injuries suffered in the crash the following day. A talented artist, poet, and singer Joseph inspired many during his brief 22 years on this earth. The Joseph M. Fannell Memorial Foundation was established in the wake of Joseph’s death to continue his legacy of touching others through artistry and to help young people overcome obstacles and reach their full potential. Applicants must be a graduating senior at any high school nationwide and must be enrolled in a creative or performing arts program at an accredited U.S. institution of higher learning during the academic year following the application date. Applicants must submit a completed entry form, essay, and all required supporting documentation.
Only one application is allowed per student in this scholarship competition. Applicants must complete all required information on the entry form. Essays must be no more than 1,000 words total in length. Essays and all materials must be saved and submitted in PDF format.
