Scholarship Description

The Rare Disease Scholarship Program supports individuals diagnosed with any form of rare disease by providing financial assistance for higher education. Open to U.S. residents aged 17 and older, this scholarship helps students with rare diseases pursue their educational goals at an accredited college, university, or trade school.

Scholarship Details

  • Up to 88 awards will be granted for the upcoming academic year
  • Additional funding provided by Amgen
  • A disease is considered rare if it affects fewer than 200,000 people in the U.S.
  • Optional opportunity to share your story with Amgen or EveryLife’s social media, newsletters, or website

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be aged 17 or older
  • Must be a resident of the United States
  • Must plan to enroll in an accredited college, university, or trade school in the coming academic year
  • Must have a rare disease. Can be diagnosed by a physician or undiagnosed
  • Preference given to those who can demonstrate financial need

Application Process

  1. Complete the scholarship application form
  2. Provide a Diagnosis Verification Form from a licensed physician
  3. Submit an essay describing your personal journey and educational goals
  4. Include information about leadership, extracurricular activities, work experience, academic performance, and financial need
  5. Submit all application materials before the deadline
