The Sander Cohen Scholarship Foundation invests in the future of first responders. The scholarship was created to honor a hero who embodied empathy, grit, and service, and we hope to inspire those qualities in the men and women with a similar calling. We aim to create pathways to the careers that keep our communities safe and reward the hard work and dedication it takes to get there. We look for a diverse group of candidates who strive to be a part of the rich network and community of first responders and see the opportunity not just as a job, but as a vocation.
Our Mission is to provide educational scholarships for US Citizens who pursue careers that train them to rescue the endangered, treat the injured, and ensure safety to the communities they serve. Enroll in a 2-4 year college or university leading to a degree in Firefighting: Fire and Safety Engineering, Arson Investigation, Law Enforcement Officer: Criminal Justice, Forensic Science, Homeland Security, EMT/Paramedic. You may pursue other majors as long as you are attached to a fire station or law enforcement agency as a career or volunteer and can give back a year upon graduation.
