Fresh Start awards annual scholarships to women in Delaware based on financial need, personal challenges, and academic record. Scholarships are awarded in New Castle, Kent and Sussex counties for women to attend any of the accredited colleges and universities in the state. In over 25 years, Fresh Start has offered financial aid and mentorship to 293 women of all ages and ethnicities.
Eligibility Requirements
In order to apply, you must:
- Be a Delaware resident
- Be a U.S. citizen or Permanent Resident
- Be female
- Be at least 20 years old at time of application
- Have had a minimum 2-year gap in your education
- Be admitted to an accredited Delaware college in a two- or four-year degree program at the undergraduate level
Fill out all areas of the application completely, and submit before the deadline. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted. The number and amount of the awards will be determined annually prior to the fall semester but will in no event exceed the costs of tuition, fees, books and other direct educational expenses. Awards will be paid directly to the college prior to the beginning of each semester. Awards are granted without regard to race, marital status, age, religion, sexual orientation, or national origin.
