The Mountain Lakes Area Branch of AAUW provides Local Scholarships for women students in higher education. At various times during the year, AAUW’s national Educational Foundation offers Fellowship and Grant programs, with deadlines falling in different months of the year, including American Fellowships, Career Development Grants, Community Action Grants, Selected Professional Fellowships, and University Scholar-in-Residence.
The AAUW Mountain Lakes Branch Scholarship applicants must have an official residence in Morris County. Completion of sophomore year at an accredited college or university or matriculation in a Master’s program by June of the year the scholarship is awarded. The committee puts primary emphasis on economic need. At least one scholarship is reserved for a mature woman returning to college to complete her degree. The number of available scholarships and dollar amounts will vary.
