Scholarship Description

The Presbyterian Study Grant, facilitated by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.), stands as a beacon of support for students embarking on careers within the church. This financial aid program, catering to around 100 students annually, plays a pivotal role in shaping the next generation of church leaders.

Key Program Details:

1. Eligible Candidates:

• Only MDiv (Master of Divinity) and MACE (Master of Arts in Christian Education) students are eligible. • MDiv students entering seminary must be under the care of Presbytery. • MDiv students entering year 3 must be a Candidate. • MACE students must be a member of a Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) congregation.

Enrollment Requirements:

• Candidates must be enrolled full-time at an ATS accredited seminary. • Full-time status includes field education and may allow less than full-time in the final year of studies.

Financial Need:

• Applicants must demonstrate financial need after consideration by the seminary or divinity school.

Presbytery Connection:

• MDiv students entering years 1 and 2 must be an Inquirer or Candidate.

Application and Selection Process:

• Applications are evaluated by a reading committee. • A maximum of 100 students is awarded each year. • After selection, students may be considered for supplemental grants based on need, diversity promotion, and donor restrictions.

Criteria for Consideration:

• Active membership in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). • Commitment to pursuing an MDiv or MACE program. • Compliance with specific criteria related to candidacy, membership, and financial need.
