The SPIRE Scholarship Program is offering three $1,000 scholarships for traditional students (graduating high school seniors) and two $1,000 scholarships for non-traditional students (returning to or continuing college). Scholarships will be paid out directly to the school during the student’s first quarter/semester with at least a 2.0 grade point average. There will be a one-year expiration date on all scholarships. Any funds not used within one year will be returned to SPIRE.
Applicants must be an active, primary* member of SPIRE Credit Union, and your account must be in good standing and must answer the following essay question within 500-1,000 words: "Who or what has had the greatest impact on how you make money decisions? Explain why." Financial need is not considered in the selection of the scholarship recipients.
*Note: The person applying (the student) must be a primary account holder with SPIRE. The parent’s account number does not make the student eligible. If the student is NOT a member, he or she is encouraged to open an account with SPIRE to become eligible. All applications must be submitted using SPIRE’s online application form – no paper applications will be accepted. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
