The Thomas J. Seefred Scholarship awards scholarships for college students between the ages of 18 and 25 who suffer from Juvenile Diabetes and are pursuing a bachelor’s degree. Applicants must be Ohio residents, 18-25 years old at time of application who have been diagnosed with Juvenile Diabetes and who intend to attend college on a full-time basis. Please note that preference will be given to residents of Mahoning, Trumbull or Columbiana counties. Current high school students are not eligible.
Awards will be based on academic promise, personal statement, letter of recommendation, and financial need. Besides completing the application, all applicants must also submit a transcript and current income tax statements from both themselves and their parents (new applicants must also provide: proof of enrollment; a physician's statement on letterhead noting diagnosis and treatment; a recommendation letter from a non-relative; and a 500-word maximum essay describing the impact juvenile diabetes has had on them and why they should be considered for this scholarship).
