The American Physical Society and IBM co-sponsor the undergraduate research internship program, the APS/IBM Research Internship for Undergraduate Women. The goal of this internship is to encourage women to pursue graduate studies in science and engineering. Applicants must be female, including all students who present or identify as women and/or trans women, with sophomore or junior standing at a U.S. college or university at the time of application. Students must also be majoring in chemistry, physics, materials science/engineering, computer science/engineering, chemical, electrical, mechanical engineering, or biology and have a minimum 3.0 GPA.
To increase privacy measures, applications will be emailed instead of applying through the website. Applicants are asked to please prepare a single file that contains the following: your resume (make sure you have your contact information correct!), your essay (in the same file), your written list of STEM courses you have taken with dates and grades, still in the same file.
The information on these three components is in the additional information section of the website. Letters of recommendation must also be emailed separately. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
