Columbus Citizens Foundation is dedicated to the appreciation of Italian-American heritage and achievement. The Foundation provides opportunities for advancement to deserving Italian-American students through various scholarship programs. The Foundation's most public event is New York City's annual Columbus Weekend Celebration and Columbus Day Parade, which invites everyone to celebrate Italian-American heritage and culture. The Foundation and its predecessor organization has organized the Parade since 1929.
Applicants of the Columbus Citizens Foundation Scholarships must be an incoming high school or college freshman (for both our High School and College awards) or a first year medical student and must have a minimum of 25% Italian heritage. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.5. Applicants must provide the parent and/or applicant’s most recent Federal Tax Return documents, Student Aid Report (SAR) from the FAFSA application (if applying for our College or Medical School Scholarships), three letters of recommendation from professional and/or academic contacts and most recent, or current, semester’s report card or transcript. Dollar amounts will vary.
