The Delmar Foundation provides scholarships to individuals who reside within the Franklin Regional School District (in western Pennsylvania) and need financial help to be able to attend an accredited college, university, junior college, technical college, or trade school (full time or part time).
To be eligible for a Delmar Foundation Scholarship, an applicant must: Be a permanent resident within the Franklin Regional School District in Westmoreland County, PA for at least one year prior to the application deadline; Be a U.S. citizen or a legal permanent resident; Demonstrate financial need to pay tuition and other school expenses Be a high school senior, or have a high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
An applicant may have: Attended the Franklin Regional School District; Been home schooled; Attended a private or parochial school; Been a member of a cyber charter school; Have applied to or currently be enrolled in an accredited college, university, junior college, technical college, or trade school - on a full-time or part-time basis; or Have achieved a minimum high school cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.00 grade point scale or have received a GED.
Applicants who have been or are currently enrolled in a college, university, junior college, technical college, or trade school (whether first-time applicants or previous Delmar Scholarship recipients) must also meet the following requirements: Applicants completing their first (freshman) year must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.75 on a 4.00 scale (or comparable performance on other grading systems) for the first year; Applicants completing their second (sophomore) or third (junior) year must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a 4.00 scale (or comparable performance on other grading systems); Have been involved in a variety of extracurricular activities, volunteer activities, and/or work experiences. Students pursuing graduate-level education, in the fifth or later year of a combined undergraduate/graduate program, and members of the Delmar Foundation Scholarship Selection Committee, their spouses and children are not eligible.
