The Holly Scanlan Foundation awards one-time scholarships to deserving undergraduate students who have an immediate family member (or are themselves) afflicted with cancer. In order to apply for the HSF Scholarship, you must: be a Connecticut or Minnesota resident; be referred by an oncology social worker or care manager; have matriculated or been accepted to matriculate as a full time undergraduate student at a regionally accredited post-secondary institution; validate a need for financial assistance; have a 2.75 GPA; and demonstrate that you have been meaningfully involved in community service.
In order to apply for this scholarship, applicants will receive a secure password to access the online application, which will be provided to them by oncology social workers or care managers. In addition to completing the application, you must write and upload a 600-800 word personal essay on the impact of cancer on your life (the Foundation will ask for a summary of your community service work, a copy of your most recent transcript, a copy of the Estimated Family Contribution (EFC) from your FAFSA and a recommendation letter.).
