The Lincoln-Lane Foundation welcomes scholarship applications from any high school or college student who is a resident of the Tidewater area of Virginia and meets the following guidelines: be a citizen or permanent resident of the United States; have a GPA of at least a 3.0; demonstrate financial need; and plan on applying to, or be currently attending, a four-year college or university in the United States. The Applicant will be notified by a letter of the final decision in April. Award amounts will vary.
Besides completing the application, you must also submit: two letters of recommendation from someone who is familiar with your academic work; a small photograph taken within the past twelve months; a copy of parent(s)’ prior year 1040 federal tax return with schedules; an official transcript of your scholastic record, with SAT/ACT scores, if applicable; a copy of an Alien Registration card, if applicable; and an essay in your own handwriting using an ink pen (cross-outs are fine) and single-sided on an assigned topic.
