Our years of experience working in higher education with women and men has taught us that education is the key to unlocking economic empowerment. When women and men are educated, they have opportunity, choice and power to make healthy decisions for themselves and their families. Our programs are delivered locally by local Pope & Yell County community volunteers. They provide the muscle and on-the-ground work that make our programs come alive. Throughout our generosity, the Scholars Fund for Education provides scholarships. Dollar amounts will vary, and deadlines will also differ (as this is offered twice a year).
The Scholars Fund for Education provides financial assistance to low-income single parents pursuing post-secondary education. Applicants must be U.S. citizens and legal residents of Pope or Yell County, Arkansas, be living at or near the poverty level, have at least joint custodial care of a child under the age of 18, must already have 12 or more earned college hours with a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or better, be eligible for the Pell Grant, and be enrolled full-time (12 hours) in an undergraduate degree program at a not-for-profit accredited educational institution.
