For nearly 30 years the Tucker Community Foundation exemplifies the impact of rural philanthropy. Inspired by the flood on '85, a group of local individuals endeavored to create a local philanthropic organization. More than 40 scholarships from the Tucker Community Foundation are available for high school and college students in and around Tucker County, as well as the surrounding counties in West Virginia & Maryland.
The Tucker Community Foundation manages numerous funds providing annual scholarships and grants to nonprofits and charitable causes throughout the eight-county service area. There are scholarships for graduating High School seniors, current 2-year, 4-year, & community college students, graduate students, and non-traditional or returning students. The mission of the Foundation is “Creating opportunities for the communities we serve.”
