Scholarship Description

Since Civil Air Patrol’s formation during the earliest days of World War II, this vigilant organization of citizen Airmen has been committed to service to America. Founded on Dec. 1, 1941, to mobilize the nation's civilian aviation resources for national defense service, CAP has evolved into a premier public service organization that still carries out emergency service missions when needed — in the air and on the ground. The Civil Air Patrol offers numerous scholarships to interested students.

Civil Air Patrol School-Specific Scholarships will vary in their criteria, based on the school. Applicants must be current CAP members and have earned the Billy Mitchell Award or received a Senior Rating in any specialty track (except for the Col Mary Feik Flight Scholarship, which requires the Wright Brothers). Must be enrolled in a full-time course of study during the academic year for which the scholarship is awarded. The total number of awards will vary, as will the dollar amounts (with some of the scholarships covering up to full-tuition).
