Scholarship Description

The Georgia Public Safety Memorial (GPSM) Grant provides financial support to dependent children of Georgia Public Safety Officers who were permanently disabled or killed in the line of duty. This grant can be applied toward the cost of attendance at eligible public or private colleges, universities, or technical colleges in Georgia.

Grant Details

  • Covers the total cost of attendance, minus other financial aid, up to $18,000 per award year
  • Applicable to undergraduate degree programs or technical certificates/diplomas
  • Awards are distributed on a first-come, first-served basis as funds are available

Eligibility Criteria

  • Must be the dependent child of a Georgia Public Safety Officer who was permanently disabled or killed in the line of duty
  • Must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, or eligible permanent resident
  • Must be a legal resident of Georgia for at least 12 months prior to receiving aid
  • Enrolled full-time (12+ credit hours) in a Georgia public or private college, university, or technical college
  • Must be in compliance with Selective Service registration requirements
  • Maintain satisfactory academic progress as defined by the institution
  • Comply with the Georgia Drug-Free Postsecondary Education Act of 1990
  • Must not be in default or owe a refund on a federal or state financial aid program
