Scholarship Description

The Gina Guthrie Scholarship Fund is a trust dedicated to awarding money to deserving students in the memory of Gina Guthrie. Gina was a student at the University of Florida from 1988-1993 and was incredibly active on campus. It was there that she met her future husband and soulmate, Mike Guthrie. Gina is gone, but not forgotten, and we have chosen to honor her and keep her memory alive with the Gina Guthrie Scholarship Fund. We hope this will be a way to remember her and help deserving students achieve the type of life Gina was able to live.

We award two $2,500 scholarships every year, one in the fall and a second in the spring. The fall award goes to a member of the Kappa Delta sorority at the University of Florida, and we have a second scholarship we award exclusively to a high school senior in Cabarrus County, North Carolina every spring. The fall scholarship is open to any member of the KD sorority at U.F. who is in good standing heading into the fall semester and the spring award is open to and public high school students from Cabarrus who are about to start college in the fall.
