Education is vital to the growth and future of every community. Because of this, the Saginaw Community Foundation administers a variety of scholarship programs for high school, community college, university and vocational students. Since awarding our first $500 scholarship in 1987, the Saginaw Community Foundation has awarded more than $8 million in scholarships. Great Lakes Safety Training Scholarship was established to benefit individuals who are pursuing a career in the trades or construction with an emphasis on safety. The fund will provide an annual scholarship award to a resident of Gratiot or Saginaw County who is pursuing a degree or certification in trades, construction, manufacturing, or engineering with an interest in safety at a college, university, or licensed vocational/technical school. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and must complete an essay on why this field of study was chosen, and how safety has impacted or can impact your life.
