Local Media Consortium has established a scholarship program to assist students who plan to pursue a degree in Journalism or Media at a four-year college or university. Awards are granted without regard to race, color, creed, religion, sexual orientation, age, gender, disability, or national origin. If selected as a recipient, the student will receive a $2,500 award. Up to five awards will be granted. Awards may be renewed for up to three additional years or until a bachelor’s degree is earned, whichever occurs first. Renewal is contingent upon satisfactory academic performance (maintaining a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale) in a full-time course of study and continuation of the program by Local Media Consortium.
Scholarship recipients are selected on the basis of academic record, demonstrated leadership and participation in school and community activities, honors, work experience, statement of goals and aspirations, unusual personal or family circumstances, and an outside appraisal. Financial need is not considered. For more information or to apply, please visit the scholarship provider's website.
