The Marin County Bar Association Legal Education Scholarship was established in 2011 by members of the Marin County Bar Association (MCBA) to support student scholarships for law school and inspire future leaders in the legal community who have an interest in giving back to the local community. Enrolled full-time in an accredited law school geographically located in California; AND
1. Graduate of a Marin County high school OR has continuously lived in Marin County for no less than a 3-year period immediately prior to submission of the scholarship application;
2. Demonstrated financial need;
3. Other relevant factors that will be considered include academic achievement, community service and involvement, career goals and special circumstances as demonstrated by the completed scholarship application.
This fund was established to honor the memory of Michael F. O'Donnell, a brilliant litigator, who was distinguished by the qualities of supreme decency, honesty, humility, and humanity. It awards scholarships to students currently enrolled in law school or pursuing a law-related career. In order to be eligible, applicants must have legal residency in Sonoma County and be in their first or second year of law school.
