Each year, the South Carolina Farm Bureau Federation Educational Foundation awards scholarships to honor past Farm Bureau leaders that made significant contributions to the organization. The scholarships are for South Carolina Farm Bureau member families and will be awarded to rising college sophomores, juniors, and seniors on the basis of character, demonstrated leadership abilities, and dedication to agriculture or related fields. It is also desired that these scholarship funds will result in the encouragement of students to develop the knowledge and skills to assume positions of leadership in agriculture, civic affairs and public service.
The recipients will be selected by the Scholarship Committee of the South Carolina Farm Bureau Educational Foundation in accordance with guidelines developed by the Foundation's Board of Directors and approved by the Foundation's membership. Incomplete applications will not be considered (including photo). The current scholarship application judging guidelines are: scholastic achievement; agricultural activities, participation and offices held in school and agricultural organizations, and community activities; students' statement and focus on career in agriculture or agricultural related field; and recommendation letters.
