Since I was younger my parents have successfully instilled in me the importance of offering help and respecting people. These values are thoroughly represented through nurses and doctors when they offer their services to patients. I enjoy watching television programs about doctors and nurses to be able to see them working collaboratively with the patients, making sure that they feel their best. Their skills and actions motivate me to also grow and strive for the opportunity. This profession is the most captivating, including meeting different patients during their daily lives, provide, and give them a comfortable environment. It’s a great responsibility that I will work to possess. During high school, I interned at the "Manhattanville Health Care Center". I along with other interns helped workers with the residents by entertaining them with music, celebrating birthdays, and serving food among other activities. After this experience, I learned that this career is something that fulfills me and my interest. My experience as an intern motivated me to pursue this career. Helping people is one of my greatest ambitions to reach my goal. Working in hospitals being a nurse is to be part of a bigger community where there is mutual trust between you and your patient. They trust your abilities to aid their health state and understand their needs. I want to be a nurse because it would be an exciting opportunity for me to be able to help people, and this is the career where I can offer what I have to provide and enjoy the task.

Hello, my name is Samantha and I am a current senior. Since I was a child, I have always loved to help people. As I've got older, I have found a great interest in studying the human body. Moreover, I found a passion for Pediatrics with a specialty in Hematology/Oncology. I aspire to attend college and become a Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist in the near future. I know that my skills and dedication to helping people will potentially save someone's life one day. With that being said, this scholarship would be of great use and beneficial to helping me afford college and following my dreams of becoming a Pediatric Hematologist Oncologist. Thank you for your time and consideration!

When I graduated Kindergarten, I was given the "Mother Hen" award. When a child was crying on the playground, I would be the first one to ask if they were okay. If someone was playing alone, I would invite them to play with me. Seeing other people's sadness heavily impacts me. This has carried on with me throughout my entire life. Mental health awareness is something I am very passionate about. I have been creating YouTube videos surrounding this topic for 6 years now, along with other light-hearted and funny videos in hopes of being able to brighten the viewers day. I volunteered all throughout high school in clubs and through the Yellow Tulip Project, which is an organization whose mission is to smash the stigma surrounding mental illness. I have chosen to go into the Social Work field with a double minor in Creative Writing and Human Nutrition, and I am striving to become a Psychotherapist who specializes with eating disorders and recovery. This profession is a dream of mine, because I have always wanted to positively impact others lives and make the world a brighter place. This scholarship would help me achieve my goals and dream career. Thank you for considering my entry!

I applied for this specific scholarship because I have a strong passion for helping others with mental health issues. I am currently in college trying to obtain my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology (clinical track). I want to use this degree to further my passion into a full time career helping children and POC with their own mental health. Receiving this scholarship would be a dream come true as it would help solve my outstanding financial issues.

This application is because I need help in order to help others. I have spent a big part of my life caring for other yet feelings of inadequacy plagues me. I believe that Nursing is a lot more than the title, the scrubs and the pay. My heart's desire has always been to give the best of me to others because my Creator gave me the best of Himself. For years I have worked to pay for my education. I have done the 10-12hr factory jobs seven nights per week then had to attend college the next day. I became a nurse to be able to help those who are less fortunate and in need of medical care. When I went on my first medical mission trip, I realised how much people are in need of medical care. I spent time encouraging people during our break and educated them on affordable yet healthier food choices. It was the first time that I felt that the sleepless nights, the tears and stress were worth it. It was the first time that I felt my license to practice medicine was worth it all. However, as much as I want to help others, I am not able to help them without the necessary knowledge, skills and resources. I decided to enrol into the NP program because it allows the level of autonomy needed to help those who are in desperate need of medical help. This scholarship would alleviate some of the prolonged stress of having to work so hard to cover all my expenses while studying. I would greatly appreciate it if you favour me because I intend to pay it forward! Thank you

I am going to apply for this scholarship because I suffered toxic shock syndrome when I was only eleven years old. I have also watched my grandpa suffer from diabetes, which resulted in a removal of his lower left leg. With these tragic experiences, I have been inspired and motivated to become a nurse. This scholarship would would help the finances of my family and I tremendously!

I applied for this scholarship because, I want to use my further education to eventually focus in on foster kids, that are struggling with their pasts, presents, and have trouble seeing what their future might hold. My dream is to eventually one day to work in a clinic that specializes in counseling kids currently in the foster system. I first plan to specialize in trauma therapy for anyone ages 6 to young adult. I would like to be a person of support to children who find it overwhelming to overcome past traumas while standing in the eye of future opportunities. I believe a community rises and falls together, young and old. It should be encouraged for everyone to show others their worth instead of beating it out of them. I strongly believe a difference can be made by helping the younger generations understand their worth and that they belong. Something I live by is; "Hurt people hurt people. Healed people heal people." I want to heal people.

I am applying for this scholarship because I always took care of people in high school. They always came to me with problems and never the councilor's. I am going for child Psychology and to let them experience emotion and shows them it is okay. I want people to see showing emotions is okay in different ways as long as it is the right way. Getting this scholarship would mean so much to me because my Great Aunt also recently got diagnosed with early stages of Alzheimer's and I want to make her happy.
