Hello! I am currently a member of Jubilee Christian Church in Boston Ma. I am currently an Active Duty Service Member looking to finish up my degree studies to earn a bachelors in Criminal Justice. I wish to apply for the scholarship to help me with my college finances. I am a life-long Southern Baptist who attends Dunn Baptist Church in Louisiana. I have chosen Belhaven University as my school of choice. I plan to study English as my major with a minor in Religious Studies. I plan to enter into Missionary work after graduation to spread the gospel either locally or abroad to children who do not have the opportunities that I have.

Really needing help to pay for graduate school. I do not qualify for any scholarships or grants, student loans only. I have been active in church my entire life. My father is an Associate Pastor and Worship Leader. I am entering graduate school in 3 weeks to get Masters in Communication Disorders. I feel God has put me in this field to help children and senior adults with their speech disorders.

I was hoping to win this scholarship so I can further my education and have an awesome career. I don’t want to take out any student loans because I don’t want to have to spend every payment I receive, on student loans.

Marilyn B 12/31/2019 For me, it has taken Faith Faith and more Faith for this journey. When I felt like giving up the holy sprite would speak to me and whisper you can do this. In the middle of the storms, I was able to keep going. I am 59 years young and this scholarship will help me finish as well as to move forward in the second half of this fantastic voyage

I am applying for this scholarship because I have a thirst and hunger to learn more of God's Word so that I can become a more effective teacher. I am currently enrolled in Luther Rice Seminary & College and beginning to face financial difficulties in paying for my classes. I have completed 12 of the required 36 semester hours so far and I really would like to receive my Master's degree in Ministry. I pray that I can be awarded with this scholarship so that I can go on and become an influence to those who are close to me.

Rosalyn T  on 8/5/2019 4:59:15 PM

I along with several other coworkers were laid off our jobs unexpectedly, I have been working in my present field for over 30 years and it has been a blessing but unfortunatly my body can no longer tolerate the stress of lifting patients, Being that I have worked in the nursing home setting for so many years I have a passion for those who are transitioning through the last cycle of life. Even though my job has ended I believe this is an opportunity to peruse a career as a hospice Chaplain and or crisis Chaplin, I truly believe this is the area that God is calling me to, I have over 100 credits that are able to transfer to the Bachelors-in Christian Counseling degree, I with goal is to advance toward the Masters in the Chaplaincy program but I will need assistance getting started since I am not working at this time.

Robert C  on 6/6/2019 12:10:22 PM

I am applying for this scholarship because I am struggling to get my Master's degree from Keiser university because of financial aid support. At this time, I have 4 more classes left to graduate, but I don't have any financial assistance. Even though I have been trying to get any other possible help, my situation remains the same. As, we all know, education is the key to success. With a master's degree, I will be able to help the community where I live in and for a better future of myself. There’s no other way people can be successful in life without taking the road of education.

Test-Optional Colleges Pledge to Judge Applications Holistically

October 22, 2020

by Izzy Hall

In response to the coronavirus pandemic and the way it has made it harder than ever to take the SAT and ACT, many colleges and universities, from large state universities to small liberal arts colleges, have announced that their admissions for next year’s Class of 2025 will be test-optional. Test-optional admissions mean that schools won’t require a submission of a standardized test score as part of the admissions process. But how will admissions officials judge applicants without a score? Will a student who doesn’t submit a standardized test score be penalized in any way? And will a student who does submit a score be chosen over one who doesn’t? [...]
