The Blue Cross Blue Shield of North Dakota (BCBSND) Caring Foundation Health Profession Scholarship Program is available to North Dakota residents currently attending a North Dakota university, college or technical college who are enrolled in a nursing or health care related program. They must be a full-time undergraduate or graduate student, and must have already completed their undergraduate freshman year of college. Applicants must also be in good academic standing; maintaining a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher, and demonstrate financial need.
Priority will be given to those that indicate willingness to work in underserved communities in North Dakota and those who are pursuing degrees in shortage health professions such as Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Physician Assistant (PA), Nurse Practitioner (NP), and degrees pertaining to Behavioral Health, as defined by the University of North Dakota’s School of Medicine’s most recent Biennial Report. All applicants will be advised of funding decisions regarding their application by the beginning of November.
