Scholarship Description

The CDGA Foundation Scholarship is awarded to disabled veterans or dependents of deceased or disabled veterans living or hospitalized in the Chicago District. Awards are given on the basis of financial need, scholastic achievement, community service and personal goals. Applicants must be a disabled veteran or a dependent of a disabled or deceased veteran with intent to enroll in an accredited college or career training school for up to a maximum of four paid awards/years.

Applicants must be a resident of Illinois or the greater geographic region known as the "Chicago District" and have a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale. Applications and all supplemental materials must be submitted in advance of the two deadlines - April 15 and September 15. All applications will then be reviewed by the CDGA Foundation Scholarship Committee. Applicants must reapply each year. To be considered, your scholarship application must include the following: a personal letter; two recommendation letters; a copy of the parents' 1040 (first two pages); copy of a completed FAFSA; a copy of high school transcripts and ACT or SAT scores; and a veteran disability form.
