Music Forward and Live Nation partner to award $10,000 scholarships to outstanding college students pursuing careers in the music industry. Established in 2016, this is one of the few scholarship programs specifically designed to support students interested in the core aspects of the concert business, including: concert promotion, venue operation, ticketing, sponsorship, e-commerce and artist management. Applicants must be a full-time Junior or Senior, minimum of 60 credits earned (non-traditional students pursuing a career in the music industry are invited to apply for scholarship opportunities if they meet all other eligibility requirements). Applications run from February until the due date.
With the added support of the Living Legacy Foundation, Music Forward is able to provide an additional $10,000 scholarship to support a student who has experienced homelessness and/or been part of the foster care system and is interested in pursuing a career in live entertainment. For the first time in 2020, the scholarships include a dedicated award from Minnesota-based, Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union, which is designated for two Minnesota college students pursuing a career related to hospitality and music industries. All five scholarships are designed to support the next generation of music industry leaders and innovators.
